The carbon neutrality data of the two companies was verified as compliant with the requirements of PAS 2060:2014, a technical standard developed by the British Standard Institute (BSI). The total emissions neutralized were 26,670.14 tons of CO2 at TH Milk Joint Stock Company and 11,631.68 tons of CO2 (scopes 1 and 2) at Nui Tien Pure Water Company Limited.

A JOURNEY TOWARDS A NET ZERO COMMITMENT

At the certification ceremony, Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Thuy, Director of Sustainable Development of TH Group, shared that the group’s sustainable development journey began early on and was guided by the visionary leadership of Labor Hero Thai Huong, who emphasized the importance of implementing a green, circular, and knowledge-based economy.

TH’s production and business activities are designed to minimize emissions, optimize operational efficiency, and meet the highest international standards, all while utilizing the resources and talents of Vietnam.

The path towards Net Zero is not merely a response to a trend but a well-tailored and proactive strategy that TH has been consistently pursuing through its steadfast commitment to sustainable development.

“TH Group pledges to maintain carbon neutrality at these two member companies until 2028, adhering to the PAS 2060 standard, followed by the ISO 14068 standard. For our long-term vision, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting the Vietnamese government in achieving its Net Zero goal by 2050,” affirmed Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Thuy to the press.

CONTROL UNION’S IMPRESSION OF TH’s EMISSION REDUCTION INITIATIVES

Control Union, the assessing and certifying body, expressed their admiration for TH’s measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve carbon neutrality.

“TH’s factories are highly automated and integrated with advanced technologies for efficient energy use. They maintain a transparent data management system and have initiated multiple resource-saving initiatives. Their proactive approach to sustainable development is evident in their waste and wastewater management, adoption of solar energy, and transition to biomass fuel,” stated Mr. Wouter Melis van Ravenhorst, CEO of Control Union Vietnam, during the certification ceremony.

To attain carbon neutrality, TH Milk Joint Stock Company and Nui Tien Pure Water Company Limited have actively reduced greenhouse gas emissions by implementing energy-saving measures, transitioning to green energy, and improving equipment and technology, along with efficient waste management.

“The assessment of TH’s carbon neutrality projects was relatively smooth and swift due to their comprehensive and professional data system. TH has been preparing for carbon neutrality from the outset by investing in advanced technologies, continuously innovating, and initiating emission reduction initiatives. Since 2018, TH’s entities have been conducting greenhouse gas inventories, and the data is stored in the modern SAP management system they employ,” remarked Mr. Wouter Melis van Ravenhorst.

Beyond climate and environmental benefits, these improved stoves offer direct social and community health advantages by reducing smoke emissions by 90%, thereby decreasing respiratory illnesses associated with kitchen smoke. Through this initiative, TH has contributed to the distribution of over 200,000 stoves to disadvantaged communities nationwide, equivalent to reducing 400,000 tons of CO2.
