**The Ninh Binh – Hai Phong Expressway: Unveiling a Transportation Landmark**

**Paragraph 1:**

The morning of April 19th witnessed a momentous occasion as a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Ninh Binh – Hai Phong Expressway project at the Mai Son intersection with the North-South Highway in Khanh Thuong commune, Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province.

**Paragraph 2:**

This national key transportation project holds exceptional significance and has been selected as a flagship initiative to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and the reunification of the country.

**Paragraph 3:**

The Ninh Binh – Hai Phong Expressway is a strategic transportation corridor, connecting northern coastal provinces with the North-South Expressway. The section passing through Ninh Binh province spans approximately 25.3 kilometers, traversing Yen Mo and Yen Khanh districts. With a total investment of over VND 6,800 billion, the project is funded by the central and provincial budgets.

**Paragraph 4:**

Designed to the highest standards of a Type A expressway, the road will feature a design speed of 120 km/h. It will include four interconnecting interchanges, 12 overpasses, and 19 underpasses for local traffic, along with auxiliary lanes, drainage systems, ITS, and rest stops, ensuring a seamless, modern, and safe travel experience.

**Paragraph 5:**

Slated for completion within 20 months, the project is set to commence construction in 2024 and conclude in 2026. Upon its completion, the expressway will significantly enhance regional connectivity, spur economic and social development, boost competitiveness, attract investments, and serve as a catalyst for the robust growth of Ninh Binh province and the entire Red River Delta region.

**Paragraph 6:**

The Ninh Binh – Hai Phong Expressway is not merely a symbol of modern transportation infrastructure but also embodies the spirit of innovation, aspiration, and unity of the Party, government, and people of Ninh Binh province. Once operational, the expressway will serve the long-term and sustainable development of Ninh Binh province and the Red River Delta region as a whole.

**Paragraph 7:**

On the same morning, a grand opening ceremony was held for the Dong – Tay (East-West) Road project in Van Phuong commune, Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh province.

**Paragraph 8:**

Commenced in March 2022, this project spans 22.95 kilometers with four lanes, except for the section from Km0+000 to Km1+640,58 (from the beginning of the route to the intersection with the North-South Expressway), which features eight lanes according to the Tam Diep urban planning. With a total investment of over VND 1,900 billion, the project holds significant importance for the province.

The Dong – Tay Road opens up new horizons for the economic and social development of Ninh Binh province.

The Dong – Tay Road is a pivotal infrastructure project, serving as a catalyst for economic growth, social progress, and tourism development in Ninh Binh province. It is a key axis in the province’s transportation network, connecting expressways, national highways, provincial roads, tourist attractions, industrial parks, and clusters in Tam Diep city, Nho Quan district, and surrounding areas. By creating new spatial opportunities, this project will attract investors to leverage the region’s strengths, fostering economic development, and improving the lives of the local populace.

These two projects are among the 80 nationwide initiatives that were inaugurated or commenced simultaneously by the Government to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and the reunification of the country.
