As reported by Tien Phong correspondents, most of the cruise ships have offered tickets priced at 1 million VND and above for the fireworks displays. Cruise ship C.B. sells tickets for the opening night and the semi-finals at 1 million VND for the first deck and 1.2 million VND for the second deck. For the final night, tickets are priced at 1.5 million VND. The ticket price includes only mineral water and no dinner.
Cruise ships offer a unique viewpoint for viewers to enjoy the fireworks display from the middle of the Han River.
Cruise ship D.K. offers tickets for the opening night at a range of 1 to 1.3 million VND, which includes a meal and drinks. For the final night, tickets for the first deck are priced at 2 million VND, while the second deck costs 2.2 million VND.
Meanwhile, cruise ship H.G. sells tickets for the initial nights starting from 1 to 2 million VND. For the final night, the tickets are priced at a higher range of 2.4 to 2.7 million VND, depending on the deck.
Mr. Duc Phuc, a resident of Son Tra district, shared that he wanted to take his family to enjoy the fireworks from a mobile grandstand on the Han River for a change of atmosphere. However, he was put off by the steep ticket prices.
“I inquired with several ships, and the tickets are all priced above 1 million VND, which is nearly ten times the usual rate. For the final night, some places quoted prices exceeding 2.5 million VND,” he said.
Normally, these cruise ships on the Han River sell tickets at around 150,000 VND per adult. Group bookings and bulk purchases can even enjoy better rates. Last year, closer to the fireworks event, the cruise ships offered more affordable tickets. The first deck was priced at approximately 600,000 VND, while the second deck was around 1 million VND per ticket.
Not only are the ticket prices exorbitant, but prospective viewers are also struggling to find tickets for the final night, even though it is still two months away. Ms. Thuy Huong, a resident of Cam Le district, shared that she is trying to buy tickets for her group of friends, but some ships have already sold out, and others have only a few tickets left for the lower decks.
According to a ticket sales staff member, the final night is always the most popular, as it features the performances of the two best teams. “Even though the ticket prices are higher than the previous nights, we have already sold out the upper decks, and only a few tickets remain for the lower deck. After many fireworks seasons, locals and tourists have become more experienced and tend to buy final night tickets well in advance, as they become scarcer and more expensive closer to the event,” the staff member shared.

Currently, Da Nang has over 20 tourist ships licensed to operate on the Han River. For many years, apart from viewing the fireworks from the grandstands on Tran Hung Dao Street and the buildings along the river, tourists have opted to purchase tickets on cruise ships to enjoy the light spectacle in the sky. The ships will pick up passengers and depart at around 7 PM, cruising along the river. As the fireworks display draws near, the ships will drop anchor to provide a stable viewing platform.
This year’s DIFF will take place from May 31st to July 12th, with the theme “Da Nang – A New Era.” The opening night on May 31st will feature teams from Vietnam and Finland presenting the theme “Cultural Essence.” The subsequent nights will see performances by Vietnam and Poland on June 7th, Canada and China on June 14th, Portugal and England on June 21st, and South Korea and Italy on June 28th. The final night on July 12th will showcase the theme “Welcoming a New Era.”
