In recent times, ‘se-dieu’ tripe has unexpectedly become a trending keyword on social media platforms. This seemingly humble dish suddenly gained viral popularity, from TikTok to Facebook, sparking intense debates about its taste, presentation, and actual quality.

At the center of this storm, the name ‘The Se Dieu Tripe’ and the brand ‘Long Chat Quan’ were constantly mentioned. Partly due to the controversial shares by the owner and partly because this place is famous for selling se-dieu tripe, it even went viral with a clip of a 40-meter long tripe.

However, before the dust could settle, two branches of Long Chat Quan in Hanoi suddenly closed, arousing even more curiosity among netizens.

Long Chat Quan on Tran Thai Tong street temporarily closed

On May 11th, the Long Chat Quan branch on Tran Thai Tong street remained closed even though it was almost evening, the usual opening time. According to nearby residents, the restaurant has been temporarily closed for a few days, and the reason is unknown, but it might reopen soon.

Furthermore, on food forums, several people shared images indicating that the Long Chat Quan branch on Ton That Tung street is also taking a break. This sudden closure sparked speculation among netizens about a possible connection to the recent se-dieu tripe controversy.

Previously, The Se Dieu Tripe had caused a stir on social media by posting a clip showcasing a 40-meter long tripe, only to later apologize for exaggerating. According to the owner, he measured the tripe by counting his steps, estimating each stride to be 1.2-1.3 meters, which resulted in a length of over 30 meters, and he further exaggerated it to 40 meters. However, upon reconsideration, he realized his steps were only about 80-90 centimeters, making the actual length of the tripe around 25-27 meters.

Currently, Long Chat Quan has three branches, two in Hanoi and one in Ho Chi Minh City. After the controversies surrounding se-dieu tripe, all branches have received special attention from the online community, not only for the dish but also for the stories associated with it.
