This recognition underscores a year of remarkable efforts and breakthroughs for the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Eximbank, HOSE: EIB) in the card sector – an area the bank has identified as a strategic focus in its digital transformation journey and enhancing customer experience.

2024 marked a year of impressive growth for Eximbank in its card business. With numerous campaigns promoting spending, offering privileges, and cashback rewards, along with close collaboration with strategic partners like JCB, the bank witnessed a significant boost in cashless payments. The continuous launch of new card products, adoption of advanced technologies, and investments in risk management and customer care systems have enabled Eximbank to not only expand its market share but also solidify its position among the fastest-growing card ecosystem banks in Vietnam.

Eximbank was honored by JCB – a leading international card organization, with the “Top Bank in Card Spending Volume” award for 2024.

The award from JCB testifies to these efforts and reflects positive changes in consumer behavior and the trust bestowed upon Eximbank by its customers.

Eximbank’s achievements extended beyond the card segment in 2024, marking a significant milestone in its overall business performance. The bank recorded a remarkable 54% year-on-year increase in pre-tax profits, reaching VND 4,188 billion – the highest in its 35-year history. Specifically, total assets amounted to VND 265,500 billion, with capital mobilization of VND 206,000 billion, credit outstanding of VND 195,500 billion, and a reduced bad debt ratio of 1.99%. These figures showcase distinct improvements in operational efficiency, profitability, and credit quality.

Entering 2025, Eximbank sets ambitious targets: consolidated pre-tax profit of VND 5,188 billion, representing a 23.8% year-on-year increase; and double-digit growth projections for total assets, capital mobilization, and credit outstanding. Eximbank remains committed to a sustainable, safe, and efficient growth model by enhancing NIM, increasing low-cost CASA deposits, and sourcing low-cost funds from economic organizations and individuals.

Particularly in 2025, Eximbank will deepen its focus on the card segment with a clear strategy. This includes introducing new card lines with diverse features catering to different customer segments, strengthening partnerships and expanding spending privileges, and adopting modern technologies such as AI and enhanced security solutions to optimize user experiences. The bank will also invest in a comprehensive risk management and customer care foundation, ensuring a seamless, personalized, and efficient card usage journey.

The JCB award is not just an accolade but also a significant milestone, spurring Eximbank to continue its innovation and solidify its position in the card market.
