On June 2nd, according to Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper’s sources, in relation to the allegation that a store of Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company (C.P. Soc Trang inter-sectoral forces inspecting C.P. Vietnam’s store in My Xuyen on May 30th
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Vinh, Deputy Chief of the Can Tho City Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sub-Department, said that in the past two days, the unit sent a mobile team to inspect two slaughter points of C.P. Vietnam in Thot Not district and Phong Dien district.
“These are the two points where C.P. Vietnam rents space for slaughtering. In addition, the unit also coordinated with the Market Management Department to inspect seven C.P. Freshop stores in districts such as Cai Rang, Ninh Kieu, and Binh Thuy. So far, no dirty pigs have been found mixed in. Pigs imported to the slaughterhouse have clear origins and are fully certified by the issuing and receiving agencies.” – Mr. Vinh informed.
Mr. Le Khanh Hung, Head of the Kien Giang Market Management Department, said that a working group had been established to coordinate with related units to inspect C.P. Vietnam’s food business establishments in the area. The inspection cannot provide information at this time.
Meanwhile, a leader of the Ca Mau Provincial Agriculture and Environment Department’s Inspectorate said that the functional forces had just inspected the P.L. slaughterhouse (where C.P. Vietnam rents space for animal slaughter). At the time of the inspection, more than 20 pigs were being slaughtered here. Through the administrative inspection, the inspection team found that the pigs had clear origins and were certified by the veterinary; the veterinary staff directly controlled the slaughter as prescribed, and no sick pigs were detected.
In Soc Trang province, the inter-sectoral inspection team has completed the inspection of four C.P. Vietnam – Can Tho Branch’s food business establishments in the province. This includes one business location in My Xuyen district, two in Soc Trang city, and one in Nga Nam town.
The inspection was conducted during the day and night of May 31st. The inspection results are being compiled by the Soc Trang Provincial Agriculture and Environment Department and will be announced as soon as possible.
In addition, the head of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sub-Department Region VII also came to Soc Trang to take pork samples at the store in Soc Trang city. The results are pending announcement.
Especially, the Soc Trang Provincial Agriculture and Environment Department has also proposed in writing that Hau Giang province direct specialized agencies to coordinate with Soc Trang to inspect and verify information and images related to the epidemic situation in Hau Giang province.
This is because Mr. N.’s allegation on social media included images of sick pigs with a location note in Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang province, in March 2022.
Upon receiving the coordination document from Soc Trang province, the Hau Giang Provincial Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sub-Department is inspecting and will promptly inform Soc Trang province of the results.
