Regarding the allegations against CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company (CP Company) for selling contaminated pork, at noon on June 2nd, an inspection team from the functional authorities of Hau Giang province is inspecting a pig slaughterhouse in Long Thanh commune (Phung Hiep district, Hau Giang province).
This slaughterhouse is a contractor for CP Company.
The inspection team consists of agencies under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Hau Giang Provincial Police. The inspection was witnessed by the owner of the slaughterhouse and a representative of CP Company.

Earlier, on the morning of May 30th, a post from the account “Jonny Lieu” – who claimed to be a sales staff member of CP Company, specifically in charge of the pork section in the outsourcing area – was circulated on social media.
According to the post, during his work at the CP Fresh Shop My Xuyen (My Xuyen town, My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province), Jonny Lieu, along with some staff members and local people, discovered several abnormal signs related to the meat business there.
“Jonny Lieu” accused CP Vietnam of mixing diseased pork and chicken meat, and even pieces of meat with a putrid smell, abscesses, pus, or those that had been pre-processed… were still being supplied to the Fresh Shop system for consumption.
At noon on the same day, CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company issued a document to its customers and partners, stating that the information from the Facebook account “Jonny Lieu” and the Zalo account “Ngan Tech” was fabricated and untrue.
In the afternoon of the same day, an interdisciplinary inspection team from Soc Trang province inspected the Fresh Shop My Xuyen.
The initial results from the inspection team showed that at the time of inspection, no damaged, spoiled, expired, or suspicious products from sick livestock or poultry were found. However, some violations regarding the legal documents of the establishment were discovered during the inspection.
Specifically, the certificate of food safety conditions No. 26/2022/CCQLCL-ST, issued by the Sub-Department of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Quality Management, had expired since March 8, 2025.
In addition, the establishment could not present the original business registration certificate, as well as the confirmation papers of food safety training for the owner and staff members.
The inspection team made a record of the incident and temporarily confiscated all the goods being traded at the time of the inspection for verification and handling.
