According to initial reports, the fire started around 8:30 pm on June 2 at the facility of Hua Hong Vietnam Technology Development Co., Ltd., a company specializing in plastic painting and dyeing. The fire spread quickly due to the flammable nature of the materials.

The hot weather and strong winds caused the fire to spread to nearby factories, including Tong Hao Vietnam Plastic Co., Ltd., Vinamek Mechanical and Electrical Joint Stock Company, and Thieu Thien Loi Embroidery Limited Company.

Local residents reported hearing a loud explosion at Hua Hong Vietnam Technology Development Co., Ltd. before the fire broke out. Workers at the Tong Hao Vietnam Plastic Co., Ltd., who were on the night shift, quickly evacuated the premises and gathered on the provincial road 391 for safety.

Firefighters and local authorities deployed 7 fire trucks and over 100 personnel, including local police, to combat the blaze. The fire was challenging to control due to the flammable materials stored in the factories and the hot weather conditions.

By 11:00 pm, the fire was mostly extinguished. However, the scene was left in ruins.

“The fire damaged three factories, affecting an area of approximately 3,000 square meters. Some materials and equipment were safely removed by authorities. The factories’ location on Provincial Road 391 facilitated the transportation of goods. However, many materials in the plastic and garment factories could not be saved and were destroyed. We are currently assessing the damage, and fortunately, there were no casualties due to timely containment measures,” said a representative from the Tu Ky district authorities.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the relevant authorities.
