According to the environmental impact assessment report (EIA) currently under consultation, the Uong Bi golf course is located in Phuong Dong ward, Uong Bi city, Quang Ninh province. The project site is adjacent to Yen Trung lake, approximately 17 km from the Yen Tu scenic area.
The project covers an area of over 142 hectares, with the current status mainly comprising production forest land, perennial crop land, and farms. Almost 73 hectares of this area is allocated for the golf course itself.
As per the master plan, the golf course will feature 36 holes along with auxiliary facilities such as an administration building, a clubhouse, a golf practice range, and a maintenance workshop.
The Uong Bi golf course is expected to be constructed over a period of 48 months and become operational by the end of 2030. The total investment for the project is estimated at VND 1,141 billion (equivalent to USD 45.7 million).
On June 4, 2025, the Quang Ninh People’s Committee approved the investment policy and selected Halong Bay Golf Investment Joint Stock Company as the investor for the Uong Bi golf course project. The detailed construction planning with a scale of 1/500 was also approved on June 9.

According to the provincial planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050, Quang Ninh aims to develop 16 new golf courses to become a leading golf tourism hub in Northern Vietnam.
Recently, the province also approved a list of 259 projects to attract investment in the 2025-2030 period. Among these, there are 8 golf course projects spanning 2,200 hectares and totaling more than VND 13,000 billion in investment. These projects are concentrated in the cities of Ha Long, Cam Pha, and Uong Bi, as well as Tien Yen district.
Regarding the investing company, it was established in March 2024 with an initial charter capital of VND 100 billion. The four founding individuals included Mr. Bui Thanh Trung contributing 35%, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh with 35%, Mrs. Le Thi Quynh Nga at 20%, and Mr. Le Van Giang at 10%.
In late 2024, the company increased its capital to VND 360 billion, with Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, the CEO, and Mr. Le Van Giang, the Deputy CEO, acting as legal representatives of the business.
Mr. Le Van Giang is also the legal representative of Greentech Livestock Joint Stock Company, which implemented and operated the high-tech pig farm project with a total investment of over VND 600 billion. This project was constructed on an area of 45.2 hectares, designed to raise 5,000 sows, 20,000 weaned pigs, and 40,000 commercial pigs per batch, with 2-3 batches per year, starting from late 2024.
