According to the approved adjustment decision, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province will plan urban development based on the public transport system (TOD model), with a focus on developing cities along the Ho Tram – Long Thanh International Airport urban expressway. This expressway has also been included in the list of prioritized projects, with a scale of 4-6 lanes for urban expressways, and an expansion to 6 lanes after 2030.

Gò Găng Airport has been removed from the province’s master plan in this adjustment.

This adjustment also involves the construction of a synchronized transportation system, including National Highways 55, 56, 51, and 51C, as well as the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 and Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway. By 2030, the province aims to have 23 provincial roads, including 21 existing ones and 11 new ones.

Regarding the planning of airports, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province has decided to: Develop Con Dao Airport in accordance with the Master Plan for the Development of the National Airport and Airfield System for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister.

Plan Dat Do Airport as a specialized airport with a 4C standard, covering an area of approximately 244.3 hectares. Exclude Go Gang Airport from the master plan to facilitate urban and service development. The usage plan for this land area will be proposed during the adjustment of the Vung Tau City Master Plan and the Go Gang Urban Subdivision Plan. Meanwhile, the existing Vung Tau Airport will continue its current functions and missions.

Ba Ria – Vung Tau focuses on developing a synchronized and comprehensive transportation system.

The adjustment decision also modifies and supplements several other items, including the construction of commercial centers and supermarkets in urban areas such as Vung Tau, Ba Ria, Phu My, and Xuyen Moc. It also involves the construction, expansion, and upgrade of markets in these urban areas.

The People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province assigns specific tasks to departments, sectors, and localities for implementation.
