VinFast Indonesia has confirmed that its upcoming manufacturing facility in the Subang Industrial Estate (West Java) is on track to be completed and operational by the end of 2025. CEO of VinFast Indonesia, Mr. Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, affirmed that this milestone is a significant step forward in their commitment to establishing an electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia. Speaking at an event in Jakarta on June 17, Mr. Kariyanto shared, “Things are going smoothly, and we are on schedule. We anticipate that the plant will be operational by the end of 2025.”

The plant is designed with an annual production capacity of 50,000 units. However, during the initial phase, output will be adjusted based on the demands of the domestic market. The VF3 model is likely to be the first vehicle assembled at this facility. According to the CEO of VinFast Indonesia, “We will prioritize the production of models with high sales volume in the market.”
VinFast has invested approximately IDR 3.2 trillion (equivalent to VND 5,144 billion) in this assembly plant project. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in July 2024, spanning an area of 120 hectares. Previously, Mr. Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, emphasized that the construction of this plant is a strategic move to solidify VinFast’s presence in the Southeast Asian region.

The VinFast VF 3 is expected to be the first model to roll off the assembly line.
Beyond vehicle sales, VinFast is dedicated to establishing a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia. This ecosystem encompasses assembly operations, support services, and related activities. The Subang plant will house key areas such as a body shop, paint shop, general assembly line, and quality inspection areas. The facility is projected to generate between 1,000 and 3,000 jobs. All products assembled in Indonesia will adhere to the same standards as those manufactured in Vietnam.
