On the afternoon of June 23, at a conference held in Hanoi to announce and hand over personnel decisions, the Minister of Science and Technology, Nguyen Manh Hung, appointed Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, who was in charge of the Members’ Council (HDTV) of Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation (VNPost), as the Chairman of the Members’ Council of VNPost.

In his speech, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang is a special person. He voluntarily left a comfortable position at VNPT Vinaphone, a company with large revenue and profits and good growth, to take on a challenging task at VNPost, which faced many difficulties. Mr. Giang was entrusted with the responsibility of leading the Members’ Council in August 2023.

According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, in the nearly two years since then, Mr. Giang, together with VNPost, has overcome challenges, reversed the decline, and achieved growth again. The salaries of over 50,000 employees have increased. More importantly, as emphasized by the Minister, there is now a clear path forward.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang expressed his gratitude to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung and the leadership of the Ministry of Science and Technology for their trust and confidence in assigning him this new role. He affirmed that this trust serves as a source of strength, enabling him to confidently overcome the challenging period.

The new Chairman, Nguyen Truong Giang, outlined six strategic and focused tasks that he, together with the collective leadership of VNPost, will implement in the coming time. Accordingly, Vietnam Post will focus on a strong transformation from a traditional postal company to a technology and service enterprise, providing comprehensive and integrated multi-service solutions to enhance customer experience. At the same time, VNPost will reform the price mechanism and operational efficiency, optimize service costs, and reshape the national logistics market, thereby contributing to the country’s economic growth.

Affirming the leading position of Vietnam Post in the logistics industry, the company aims for a growth rate of 400% by 2030, providing the most optimal comprehensive solutions to customers. Vietnam Post will develop and elevate the “Bach Hoa Buu Dien” chain of stores and the “Bach Hoa Buu Dien” e-commerce platform to become one of the top three largest retail systems in Vietnam by 2030, leveraging its extensive distribution network and customers’ trust in the brand.

VNPost will also deploy a comprehensive digital transformation platform for traditional grocery stores nationwide, aiming to capture 50% of the market share in this segment. Finally, the company will build a modern, transparent, flexible, and innovative governance model, fostering a young, tech-savvy team with a dedicated spirit and long-term commitment to the postal industry.

In the next 12 months, VNPost sets ambitious targets, including a 25% growth in revenue and a 15% increase in profits and employees’ income.

Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, born in 1971, holds a Master of Business Administration from the National Economics University in Hanoi. Before assuming the position of Chairman of VNPost, he held several senior leadership roles, including: In-charge of VNPost’s Members’ Council since August 2023; General Director of VNPT Vinaphone; and Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Post Insurance Joint Stock Corporation (PTI).

With his extensive experience in the fields of postal services, telecommunications, and insurance, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang is recognized as a leader with a reform-oriented mindset, strong strategic planning skills, and a customer-centric approach, always focusing on improving operational efficiency and enhancing service quality.
