In the afternoon of June 26, in Shanghai, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with leaders of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC).

At the meeting, Mr. Shen Bo, CEO of COMAC, shared that COMAC was established with the goal of developing China’s commercial aviation industry. They are renowned for their C919 aircraft series and are currently developing the ARJ21 model. The corporation is also embarking on the C929 wide-body aircraft project, with a planned investment of up to USD 20 billion.

Trusting in the guidance of the leaders of both countries, the Chairman of the COMAC Corporation proposed that Vietnam continue to create favorable conditions for the operation of COMAC aircraft. He also suggested supporting cooperation between Vietjet and COMAC and expanding collaboration in other areas such as aircraft maintenance, repair, manufacturing, and production of equipment and spare parts.

Prime Minister Chinh appreciated COMAC’s achievements in researching and developing modern commercial aircraft series, contributing to the diversification of the commercial aircraft market and the advancement of the aviation industry and high-tech science in China.

For long-term and sustainable cooperation, the Prime Minister proposed that COMAC collaborate with Vietnamese partners in aircraft maintenance and repair services, promote aircraft purchase and leasing contracts with airlines, cooperate in human resource training, and cooperate in other fields of strength. The spirit of cooperation should progress from simple to complex and from low to high, with increasing closeness and effectiveness and mutual benefit.
