Hòa Phát Delivers First Batch of Made-in-Vietnam Containers to Tân Cảng Sài Gòn

On June 25th, Hòa Phát Group and Tân Cảng Sài Gòn held a ceremony to mark the handover of newly-built container shells. The event was graced by senior leaders from both companies and took place at Hòa Phát’s container manufacturing plant in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu.
Attending the ceremony were Colonel Phùng Ngọc Minh, Deputy General Director of Tân Cảng Sài Gòn, along with representatives from its affiliated units. Hòa Phát was represented by Ms. Chu Thị Thanh Hương and Mr. Bùi Ngọc Thuyên, Deputy Directors of the company.

This signing and handover ceremony marks the beginning of a collaborative partnership between Hòa Phát and Tân Cảng Sài Gòn. It is also the first time that Hòa Phát has supplied containers to a leading company in the field of port operation and logistics services.
The products provided to Tân Cảng Sài Gòn have been optimally designed by Hòa Phát for payload, suiting domestic operating conditions, and are currently popular among customers.

A representative from Tân Cảng Sài Gòn shared, “Our collaboration with Hòa Phát offers us an additional choice from a domestic manufacturer, aligning with our goal to enhance equipment quality and strengthen our autonomy in operations. We believe this lays the foundation for sustainable cooperation between our companies in the future.”
Tân Cảng Sài Gòn is the leading defense enterprise in Vietnam’s marine economic sector. They are also the top company in port operation and logistics services in the country. Their port and depot system spans from North to South Vietnam, serving as a pivotal link in the domestic and international supply chain.
Ms. Chu Thị Thanh Hương from Hòa Phát commented, “Our partnership with Tân Cảng Sài Gòn marks an important milestone in Hòa Phát’s journey to develop the domestic container market. We will continue to enhance our product quality and improve our manufacturing processes to better meet technical standards and practical requirements from our partners.”
The containers delivered to Tân Cảng Sài Gòn meet all international technical standards. Hòa Phát secures most of its raw materials through its own supply of weather-resistant hot-rolled steel coils from the Hòa Phát Dung Quất steel complex, ensuring stable production and enhancing competitiveness in the market.
Hòa Phát’s container factory is currently operating in its first phase with an annual capacity of 200,000 TEU, aiming for a scale of 500,000 TEU upon the completion of subsequent investment phases. With its current capacity, Hòa Phát is the largest container manufacturer in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.
The collaboration between Hòa Phát and Tân Cảng Sài Gòn aligns with their shared vision to enhance autonomy in the domestic logistics chain by leveraging domestic resources. The two companies are in discussions to expand the scope of their cooperation based on actual needs and the long-term potential of the maritime transport industry.
