On August 1st, at the headquarters of the Ninh Binh People’s Committee, Mr. Tran Song Tung, member of the Provincial Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, had a courtesy meeting with Mr. Rahul Sudesh Bali, Director and General Manager of Innovations India.
FILM COLLABORATION WITH INDIA TO PROMOTE NINH BINH
During the meeting, Mr. Rahul expressed his admiration for the natural landscape and unique cultural heritage of Ninh Binh. Following the initial success of the Indo-Vietnamese film, Love in Vietnam, which was showcased at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival and screened at DANAFF 2025, Mr. Rahul plans to produce another film entirely set in Ninh Binh.

According to Mr. Rahul, India’s growing middle class tends to travel to locations featured in films. With its majestic mountains, magnificent caves, and unique heritage sites, Ninh Binh has the potential to become an appealing destination for both tourists and international filmmakers. He also shared his plans to film festivals in Ninh Binh and proposed the province as the venue for the opening of Namaste Vietnam 2025, an event connecting Indian artists, directors, and businesses with Vietnam.
Mr. Tran Song Tung appreciated Mr. Rahul’s practical ideas for promoting Ninh Binh internationally, especially in the Indian market, where there is a growing interest in Vietnamese culture and tourism. He mentioned that Ninh Binh is upgrading its tourism infrastructure, including the construction of a five-star hotel and an international airport project just 20 km from the city center, to accommodate the expected influx of international tourists.
A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO PUT NINH BINH ON THE GLOBAL MAP
On the same day, Mr. Tran Song Tung met with a delegation from the Photographic Society of America (PSA), led by Ms. Agatha Anne Bunanta, Vice President of External Relations. The discussion focused on the possibility of hosting the PSA International Photographic Convention in Ninh Binh in April 2026.

Ms. Agatha shared that the International Photographic Convention is an important annual event that has been successfully held in India, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. The event in Ninh Binh is expected to last three days (April 24-26, 2026) and gather 150-200 international photographers, creating a space for artistic creation and promoting the cultural and natural heritage of Vietnam.
Mr. Tran Song Tung expressed his agreement with the proposal and emphasized that after the administrative merger, Ninh Binh now has a natural area of over 3,942 km2 and more than 5,000 historical relics, including 283 national-level relics and 8 special national-level relics. Notable sites include the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, the Trang An-Tam Coc-Bich Dong landscape complex, and the world’s first and only double heritage site in Southeast Asia.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee committed to directing the departments to coordinate closely and create the most favorable conditions for the event’s success, contributing to the realization of the aspiration to build Ninh Binh into a Millennium Heritage City and a centrally governed city in the near future.
