The People’s Committee of Dong Nai province has issued an administrative sanction decision against Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd. According to the decision, Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd. (located in Bau Xeo Industrial Park) has committed a series of administrative violations.

Fined for environmental violations, Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd. pays a penalty of over VND 700 million
Specifically, Violation 1 involves inaccurate declaration of hazardous waste quantity in reports to authorized state agencies. The company’s 2023 environmental protection report did not reflect the actual hazardous waste generation, with a reported total of 328,976 kg, while the actual generation per hazardous waste documents for 2023 was 330,337 kg.
Violation 2 pertains to non-compliance with the contents of the Environmental Permit as regulated and authorized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Specifically, the company failed to install suction hoods at certain positions in the production line as specified in the application dossier for the Environmental Permit granted by the Ministry.
Violation 3 involves providing inaccurate environmental data and information to authorized state agencies. Specifically, the company provided inaccurate data on the volume of treated wastewater, reused water, and discharged water in 2023 to the Inspection Team (the reported figures for reused water volume and discharged water volume in the Thao River differed from the statistics from the meters and logs provided by the company).
Violation 4 concerns the submission of inaccurate reports on water resource exploitation activities to authorized agencies. Specifically, the company reported inaccurate data on water resource exploitation volume to the Inspection Team (the log provided on January 3, 2025, recorded a meter reading of 5820115, while the actual meter reading at the site was 5820122).
For these violations, Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd. was fined VND 705 million by the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province. The company is also required to rectify the information regarding the volume of treated wastewater, reused water, and discharged water for 2023.
Pou Sung Vietnam Co., Ltd., headquartered in Bau Xeo Industrial Park, manufactures sports shoes, semi-finished products, and accessories for shoe production; produces sofa chairs and other types of chairs and tables, and plastic products (various types of PP and PE bags, cutting boards, etc.).
At the start of its business operations in December 2006, the company employed nearly 20,000 workers.
