On August 4th, a representative from the 7th Road Traffic Police Team of the Hanoi Police’s Traffic Police Department stated that their unit dispatched officers to investigate and clarify the incident.
Earlier that day, a video clip emerged on social media depicting a man suddenly rushing towards a passenger bus, engaging in a verbal altercation with the driver, and then snatching the vehicle’s keys before departing.
Black car uses the emergency lane on the Vanh Dai 3 flyover.
According to the social media user who shared the clip, the black car with license plate 30M-258.67 entered the emergency lane on the Vanh Dai 3 flyover and then attempted to merge back into the main lane but was unable to do so due to heavy traffic.
As the black car finally merged, a man in a green shirt exited the vehicle and approached the bus. When the bus driver opened the door, the man rushed in, shouting and forcefully pulling at the driver’s shirt, causing a button to pop off. He then took the bus keys and left.
Mr. To Thanh Tung, Director of Khanh Linh Mine Equipment Trading and Transport Joint Stock Company, confirmed that the bus involved in the incident was operated by his company.
The man in the green shirt takes the bus keys and leaves.
Mr. Tung further stated that passengers on the bus chased after the green-shirted man to retrieve the keys, but he immediately drove away. There were over 40 passengers on board at the time.
“After the incident, we called 113 to report to the police. We were instructed to use a spare key to move the bus temporarily, and then file a report,” said Mr. Tung.
Passengers were stranded in the sun on the Vanh Dai 3 flyover.
“Our company is in the process of filing a report with the Thanh Liet Ward Police and hopes that the authorities will promptly investigate and clarify the matter,” he added.
