Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his entourage inspect the progress of key national transport infrastructure projects, including the Long Thanh International Airport and the Nhon Trach Bridge – the largest project on Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3.

At the construction site, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the symbolic significance of the Long Thanh Airport, reflecting the country’s aspirations and development ambitions in this new phase. The Prime Minister instructed the construction units to continue their dedicated work, organizing continuous shifts to ensure timely completion as planned.

The Prime Minister acknowledged and commended the sense of responsibility and perseverance of the engineers and workers who are working tirelessly at the construction site, braving harsh weather conditions to ensure the project’s progress. He urged the units to maintain high-intensity work while ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion as committed.

Later that day, the Prime Minister, along with the Minister of Construction, Tran Hong Minh, inspected the Nhon Trach Bridge project – Component Project 1A of the Tan Van-Nhon Trach section, spanning 8.7 km. This is the most critical project on Ho Chi Minh City’s Eastern Ring Road 3.

Reporting to the Prime Minister and the delegation, Mr. Tran Van Thi, Director of My Thuan Project Management Board (investor), shared that since the government launched the high-peak labor campaign “500 days and nights of labor to complete 3,000 km of expressways” (August 18, 2024), the Board has set smaller goals and organized continuous labor competitions to ensure progress.

Specifically, the Nhon Trach Bridge project has completed 99% of the workload, and preparations for the inauguration ceremony are being expedited. Once operational, the project will contribute to reducing the burden on the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh expressway and provide a direct connection between the former Ba Ria – Vung Tau province and Ho Chi Minh City’s center.

Mr. Thi added that in 2025, the My Thuan Project Management Board is determined to direct the construction completion of six projects (with a total length of 217 km, including four projects with a total length of 191 km under the plan to complete 3,000 km of expressways in 2025).

Regarding Component Project 1A of the Tan Van-Nhon Trach section (8.7 km long), it has been technically opened to traffic since April 30 this year. The project progress has reached 99%, with the completion of the traffic safety system and final procedures for the inauguration and operation on August 19. Upon completion, this route will relieve the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh expressway and help ease traffic congestion between the former Ba Ria – Vung Tau province and Ho Chi Minh City’s center.

The Prime Minister applauded the efforts of the My Thuan Project Management Board in closely following the directions, maintaining construction progress, and achieving positive results. He proposed that the unit uphold its sense of responsibility, adhere to the set goals, and organize scientific, safe, and quality construction to complete the project as scheduled.
