The Infrastructure Maintenance Team (under the Department of Construction) is coordinating with relevant units to expedite the construction of the Hung Vuong Road expansion project, from Tran Phu Street to Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, following the direction of the Hanoi People’s Committee.

The Hung Vuong Road expansion project, spanning 100 meters, will be developed by expanding towards 61 Tran Phu, ensuring a 36-meter width as per the master plan, encompassing both the roadway and sidewalks.

This transportation route holds a special role, connecting numerous central offices and frequently accommodating significant political activities and major celebrations of the country, including the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).

Immediately upon receiving the assignment, the Infrastructure Maintenance Team collaborated with technical units to promptly relocate underground and overhead technical infrastructure along the route. They also worked with the Technical Infrastructure Management Center and Hanoi Park and Tree Company to relocate trees and dismantle existing structures at 61 Tran Phu, ensuring compliance with the land clearance boundary.

According to the reporter’s observation, the building at 61 Tran Phu (constructed in the early 20th century) and located just a few hundred meters from Ba Dinh Square, has been dismantled. Land clearance at this site is essentially complete, with many old structures entirely demolished, facilitating the timely implementation of the Hung Vuong Road expansion project.

Along Hung Vuong Road, construction materials and sidewalk paving stones are neatly stacked along the roadside. Construction crews are diligently removing the old brick pavement and replacing it with new stone as per the design specifications. Throughout the 100-meter stretch, the construction atmosphere is vibrant, with multiple groups of workers taking shifts to diligently complete each sidewalk and infrastructure component.

The project is expected to be completed by August 15, 2025, ahead of Hanoi’s peak season for commemorating significant events, including the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025), 80 years of the Traditional Day of the People’s Police, and 20 years of the Whole People’s Security Movement.

Expediting the construction schedule not only contributes to the beautification of the urban landscape and enhances the appearance of the capital’s political and administrative center but also demonstrates Hanoi’s proactive and determined approach in executing key political tasks assigned by the Central Government.
