This national TV debut competition aims to discover and nurture AI talents, boost the AI ecosystem, and contribute to the National Digital Transformation Strategy. The contest creates a large-scale, real-world playground for the nation’s tech community. In addition to the organizers’ prizes, the winning team has the chance to receive Techcombank’s “Miracle” prize, including a global AI scholarship of up to $1 million and career opportunities in the field.
The “A.I. Real Combat” competition is born out of the Party and State’s vision to prioritize “Developing science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation” as per Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo. The contest brings this resolution to life and fosters an environment that nurtures AI talent from their school days.
According to a 2024 McKinsey report, 65% of the global workforce has engaged in AI co-creation. In Vietnam, 74% of businesses have adopted a digital strategy (higher than the 63% average in Asia-Pacific, as per CPA Australia), and nearly 80% of them have used AI in the past 12 months. Notably, according to the OECD, AI could contribute an additional 12% to Vietnam’s GDP by 2030 if appropriately developed and applied. Therefore, “A.I. Real Combat” promises to create compelling television and generate strong interest in the AI community—a platform for young talents to collide, groundbreaking ideas to germinate, and AI technology to come closer to life, thereby increasing productivity and efficiency for the entire economy.
Ms. Thai Minh Diem Tu, Director of Marketing at Techcombank, shared, “This is an important milestone for the country. By becoming the exclusive sponsor of the ‘A.I. Real Combat’ competition, Techcombank and its ecosystem are committed not only financially and human resource-wise but also responsibly hand-in-hand with the organizers, Vietnam Television, the National Data Center, the National Data Association, and the jury to make this program a national priority. This will create new opportunities for AI talents to develop and contribute in this new era of national advancement.”
In recent years, Techcombank has embarked on a robust digital transformation journey, focusing on three main pillars: Digitization, Data, and Talent. The bank currently owns one of the most modern Generative AI platforms in Southeast Asia and possibly Asia and the globe, with completion expected by mid-2026. The bank also aims to be the first in Vietnam to comprehensively apply AI in banking. “A.I. Real Combat” is an opportunity for Techcombank to connect with experts, the tech community, talent hunt, and experiment with new ideas for practical application. This helps Techcombank and its ecosystem maintain their pioneering position in technology, data, and talent, positively impacting the economy.
The “AI Real Combat” program is expected to air on Vietnam Television from September to December 2025. The finale is anticipated for mid-January 2026. The organizers hope the contest will strongly resonate with universities, research institutes, students, lecturers, scientists, technology experts, and AI enthusiasts. This will contribute to building a robust AI ecosystem, creating a high-quality human resource foundation for the future, and propelling Vietnam’s deep integration into the global technology map.
