Global Metaverse Summit Vietnam 2025: Empowering a Nation’s Blockchain Aspirations

Jenny Nguyen, 27, Director of Operations at Kyros Ventures and Coin68, is spearheading the Global Metaverse Summit Vietnam 2025.

With over 20,000 attendees, thousands of international visitors, more than 150 side events, and the presence of hundreds of investment funds, leading technology corporations, and global founders, the Global Metaverse Summit Vietnam 2025 is regarded as one of the top three blockchain events in Asia, following Token2049 (Singapore) and Korea Blockchain Week (Seoul).

As the Director of Operations at Kyros Ventures, one of the organizers of the summit alongside SSI Digital, Jenny is not just orchestrating a technology conference – she aims to contribute to repositioning Vietnam on the global blockchain map.

But how did it all begin? What sparked the idea for this ambitious undertaking, and what makes Vietnam ready for such a significant event?

Jenny Nguyen: For us – the event organizers, it all started with a sense of aspiration; we noticed that Vietnam lacked a signature, nation-branded blockchain event like Token 2049 in Singapore or Thai Block in Thailand. We recognized Vietnam’s potential and strength in this domain but felt the absence of a prominent event to showcase it to the world. So, we decided to take the initiative and fill this gap.

In the first year, we organized the summit in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting over 6,000 attendees. However, we still lacked official recognition and support from the government and mainstream media. The second year saw an increase in scale, but it was still modest compared to our aspirations. Now, in the third year, with the event taking place in Hanoi and receiving endorsement from central authorities, various government agencies, the media, and international partners, I believe we have reached a significant turning point, both in terms of scale and stature.

The Global Metaverse Summit Vietnam 2025 is expected to leave a lasting impact on Vietnam’s blockchain landscape.

This year marks a pivotal moment for the summit. Can you share some figures that highlight the event’s continental stature?

Jenny Nguyen: If we look at the numbers over the past three years, the growth is evident. In the first year, we had 2,000 registered attendees, 6,000 actual participants, 150 speakers, and 10 exhibition booths. The second year saw a significant increase, with 12,000 attendees and 30 exhibition booths.

This year, on the first day alone, we welcomed nearly 10,000 visitors, and we are targeting a total of 20,000 attendees over two days. Additionally, more than 150 side events are taking place during the same week, collectively known as “Vietnam Blockchain Week.”

While the number of speakers may not have increased exponentially, the quality and diversity of our speakers have improved significantly. We have representatives from government agencies, global corporations, international investment funds, and Nasdaq Technology – a provider of infrastructure to multiple stock exchanges worldwide.

In terms of scale and impact, the Global Metaverse Summit Vietnam 2025 is now among the top three blockchain events in Asia, following Token 2049 in Singapore and Korea Blockchain Week in South Korea. We are proud of this achievement and are committed to maintaining and elevating this status.

Economic Impact: Catalyzing Growth Across Industries

It’s undeniable that an event of this magnitude will have a substantial economic ripple effect. Can you elaborate on these impacts and how they benefit Vietnam’s economy?

Jenny Nguyen: The Global Metaverse Summit Vietnam 2025 will have far-reaching impacts beyond just the blockchain and digital asset industries.

First, the event has already created a significant pre-event buzz and momentum. In the weeks leading up to the summit, various activities took place, including hackathons, university tours, and office tours organized by international entities right here in Vietnam. These initiatives aimed to discover young talent and explore the local startup ecosystem. The Global Metaverse Summit serves as the culminating point, where results from these activities are announced and celebrated.

Second, in terms of direct economic impact, the summit generates a noticeable boost in consumption and local business. With over 150 side events taking place during Vietnam Blockchain Week, there is a substantial increase in demand for accommodation, restaurants, transportation, and tourism services in Hanoi. Additionally, the presence of thousands of international attendees translates to a significant influx of spending in the domestic market.

Notably, leading technology corporations and investment funds, such as Google and Foundation, have proactively approached us to discuss potential long-term collaborations, including the possibility of establishing accelerator programs for startups right here in Vietnam.

Third, regarding investment, the event serves as an effective platform for connecting domestic startups with international investors. We have successfully facilitated connections and supported projects like Kaito AI in securing investment. Beyond the formal discussion panels, numerous bilateral meetings between Vietnamese startups and foreign investment funds are taking place on the sidelines of the event. While specific figures cannot be disclosed due to confidentiality, several memorandums of understanding and strategic cooperation agreements have been signed, sowing the seeds for the next wave of investment into Vietnam.

A “Vietnam Signature” Event Elevating the Country’s Reputation

I appreciate how the summit goes beyond just being a technology event. Can you elaborate on how GM Vietnam incorporates a unique Vietnamese touch?

Jenny Nguyen: Absolutely! For us, this is not merely a technology conference; it’s an opportunity to promote the country’s image and cultural heritage. From the logo featuring the iconic Dong Son drum to folk performances and gifts like coffee filters and conical hats, every detail is intentionally designed to offer international guests a taste of Vietnam’s unique culture and hospitality. Having attended numerous international events, I can confidently say that nowhere else offers such a profound cultural experience and warm welcome as Vietnam. According to our surveys, most international attendees feel a sense of warmth and look forward to returning. Some even come back solely because they fell in love with Vietnam during their initial visit for the summit.

Long-Term Vision: Building an Ecosystem, Not Just an Event

What steps will the organizers take to maintain connections and continue developing the blockchain ecosystem in Vietnam after the event?

Jenny: I believe that the true economic impact of an event like the Global Metaverse Summit Vietnam 2025 should not be measured solely by short-term figures like accommodation revenue or immediate transaction volumes. Instead, it’s a long-term story about building a foundation, fostering an ecosystem, and enhancing Vietnam’s competitive advantage in the digital era.

Currently, we are implementing a post-event model called “GM After,” which includes incubation, development, and acceleration programs for promising startups. We also facilitate specialized investor connection activities, including private meetings in Vietnam or visits to their offices abroad. Our goal is not just to organize an annual event but to contribute to the formation of a sustainable technology ecosystem capable of nurturing international-caliber talent and projects.

More importantly, we hope that the Global Metaverse Summit will inspire Vietnam’s youth. We have met many young attendees born in 2006 and 2007 who are participating for the first time. After this experience, they feel empowered to pursue new paths, such as becoming blockchain developers, professional traders, or technology entrepreneurs. For us, the most significant value of this event is not measured in economic indicators but in the transformative impact it has on the aspirations and career choices of Vietnam’s youth.

Finally, what are your hopes and aspirations for the summit’s long-term legacy in Vietnam and beyond?

Jenny Nguyen: We envision the Global Metaverse Summit not just as a two-day event but as a symbol – a gathering place for the global blockchain community and a showcase of Vietnam’s potential. Instead of flying to Dubai, Singapore, or Seoul for blockchain conferences, I want people to fly to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City for the Global Metaverse Summit. And I don’t just want founders, developers, and investors to come – I want their families and communities to join, to share in the excitement and belief in a digital Vietnam.
