The electric motorcycle market in Ho Chi Minh City has been bustling like never before following the city’s announcement of a policy encouraging the switch from gasoline-powered vehicles to electric ones. Immediately after this information was released, the demand for electric motorcycles from residents skyrocketed, creating a bustling atmosphere at stores and dealerships.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Demand for Electric Motorcycles Soars

At a YADEA electric motorcycle store on Tan Ky Tan Quy Street in Binh Hung Hoa Ward, an employee named Toan couldn’t hide his surprise at the wave of customers rushing to buy vehicles in recent days. He shared that sales have surged, with many models being continuously ordered, leaving the store with almost no stock left to sell and only a few display units.

“Since the news about the switch to electric vehicles broke, we’ve been inundated with customers. Everyone wants to quickly own a suitable vehicle for commuting within the city,” he said.

With prices ranging from 20 to 30 million VND (excluding registration fees), electric motorcycle models have quickly become a reasonable choice for many people, especially young people. Among them, the YADEA Orla, with its elegant design, is attracting significant attention from students and office workers.

Consumers are increasingly interested in electric motorcycles.

Ho Chi Minh City Sees a Surge in Inquiries for Electric Motorcycles

It’s not just YADEA; VinFast’s distribution system in Ho Chi Minh City has also witnessed a similar situation. Mr. Dat, an employee at the VinFast Gia Huy store on Pham Van Dong Street in Hiep Binh Ward, said that the number of customers visiting the store to inquire and place orders has been unprecedented. “Since the policy to encourage the exchange of gasoline vehicles for electric ones was implemented, the number of customers inquiring about purchases has increased sharply, and many models are quickly sold out,” he said.

Among the popular models, VinFast Evo200 and Feliz S stand out. Especially, Evo200 has become the top choice for drivers of the green ride-hailing company Xanh SM, thanks to its reasonable price and stable performance.

It’s not just the two leading brands, VinFast (Vietnam) and YADEA (China); the Vietnamese electric vehicle market also welcomes new players. Companies like Honda (Japan) and Dibao (Taiwan) are gearing up to launch new models, promising to bring a fresh breeze to this booming market.
