The stock market opened with a positive trading session on Monday, creating a bullish gap at the start of the session on August 5th. However, the market experienced a sudden and intense selling pressure in the afternoon session before recovering towards the end of the day. The VN-Index closed with a gain of 18.96 points (+1.24%), ending at 1,547.15. Foreign trading was a downside, as foreign investors net sold heavily on all three exchanges, amounting to VND 2,259 billion.
Securities companies continued to net sell with a value of VND 1,417 billion on the HoSE exchange.

Specifically, securities companies recorded the highest net selling in VPB, with a value of VND 192 billion. This was followed by BSR and VIB, which were net sold at VND 180 billion and VND 94 billion, respectively. Several other stocks also witnessed notable net selling, including PNJ (VND 77 billion), VIC (VND 63 billion), HDB (VND 57 billion), and CTG (VND 56 billion).
On the buying side, VNM and E1VFVN30 witnessed the strongest net buying, both with a value of VND 49 billion. This was closely followed by FUEVFVND with net buying of VND 48 billion. Stocks such as NVL, HSG, CTS, FUEVN100, MSB, HT1, and DCM also saw positive net buying activity.
