Vietravel Airlines Welcomes New Airbus A320 to Its Fleet

On August 4, 2025, at Noi Bai International Airport, Vietravel Airlines officially welcomed an Airbus A320 aircraft to its fleet, marking a significant step in the airline’s journey towards enhanced operational capabilities and sustainable development.

The new Airbus A320, with the registration number VN – A136, features a comfortable 182-seat configuration. It will enter service in August after completing necessary technical maintenance. This addition follows the integration of the airline’s first owned Airbus A321 in June 2025, marking a new chapter in their strategy to transition from leased to owned aircraft, made possible by the strategic partnership with T&T Group.

The Airbus A321/A320 series is a popular narrow-body aircraft in the Asia-Pacific region, known for its operational efficiency, fuel economy, and versatility for both domestic and short to medium-haul international routes. By choosing this aircraft type, Vietravel Airlines can easily access maintenance facilities and spare parts while efficiently utilizing the region’s abundant pilot and engineer resources.

With its growing fleet of owned aircraft, the airline aims to improve operational efficiency, standardize services, and establish a solid foundation for network expansion. The ultimate vision is to become a leading green, professional, modern, and sustainable airline in the region.

“Developing our owned fleet is not just an operational strategy but also a testament to our internal capabilities, long-term commitment, and ability to maintain service quality,” said Mr. Do Vinh Quang, Chairman of Vietravel Airlines. “This lays the foundation for a sustainable development strategy that can compete at the regional level.”

Integrating with the T&T Ecosystem and Vietravel Airlines’ Operational Mastery

Vietravel Airlines is in the process of acquiring its third owned aircraft while actively negotiating with aircraft manufacturers and international airlines to expand its fleet and network. By 2030, the airline aims to have a fleet of 30-50 aircraft, serving Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, and the Middle East.

To support these growth objectives, Vietravel Airlines has approved a plan to increase its charter capital to VND 2,600 billion. This financial resource will facilitate the airline’s ambitious fleet expansion and operational scale-up, along with investments in modern operational technologies, maintenance facilities, and, most importantly, high-quality human resources training—a key factor in the airline’s sustainable development strategy.

Additionally, the capital increase aims to ensure robust solvency, maintain healthy financial indicators, and continuously enhance the airline’s reputation with strategic partners, suppliers, and domestic and international credit institutions.

Beyond passenger transportation, Vietravel Airlines is also planning to venture into cargo transportation (air cargo). This sector holds immense potential, especially with the region’s supply chain and logistics industry experiencing robust post-pandemic growth.

Furthermore, T&T Group and Vietravel Airlines are exploring the development of ancillary aviation services such as ground handling, warehousing, loading and unloading, technical services, and aviation industries. These initiatives aim to enhance the airline’s competitiveness and contribute to the completion of the aviation ecosystem that T&T Group is cultivating.

Notably, Vietravel Airlines’ fleet development aligns with T&T Group’s broader strategy to cultivate an aviation-logistics-infrastructure ecosystem. As a strategic shareholder, T&T Group not only provides financial support but also guides Vietravel Airlines to become a pivotal link in its ecosystem, encompassing airports, aviation-logistics-urban industrial complexes, and transportation and logistics infrastructure.

While most private airlines rely on third-party infrastructure and technical services, Vietravel Airlines’ integration with T&T Group’s synchronized ecosystem enables greater autonomy in operations and optimization of costs and operational efficiency.
