Fluctuations in domestic gasoline and oil prices from December 26, 2024, to August 7, 2025

Regarding the reason for the price adjustment, the Ministries stated that the world gasoline and oil market during this price adjustment period (from July 31, 2025, to August 6, 2025) was influenced by various factors, including: updates on US tax policies for imported goods from trading partners; OPEC+’s decision to increase oil production in September; the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, etc. The above factors caused fluctuations in world gasoline and oil prices in recent days, with prices rising and falling depending on the product.

Specifically, the average price of world gasoline and oil products between the price adjustment period on July 31, 2025, and August 7, 2025, was as follows: $78.508 per barrel of RON92 gasoline (an increase of $1.100 per barrel, or 1.42%); $80.198 per barrel of RON95 gasoline (an increase of $1.100 per barrel, or 1.39%); $87.616 per barrel of kerosene (a decrease of $0.426 per barrel, or 0.48%); $88.868 per barrel of 0.05S diesel oil (a decrease of $1.632 per barrel, or 1.80%); and $420.802 per ton of 180CST 3.5S fuel oil (an increase of $3.404 per ton, or 0.82%).

Fluctuations in world gasoline and oil prices from July 24, 2025 – July 30, 2025 and July 31, 2025 – August 6, 2025

In this price adjustment, given the fluctuations in world gasoline and oil prices, exchange rate movements, and current regulations, the Ministries of Industry and Trade and Finance decided on a price adjustment plan to ensure that domestic gasoline and oil prices are in line with world price movements. The plan also aims to maintain a reasonable price difference between bio-fuel E5RON92 and RON95 to encourage the use of bio-fuels in accordance with the government’s policy, and to balance the interests of all market participants.
