According to the Provincial People’s Committee, the high-speed North-South railway project has been approved by the National Assembly for investment.
In the approved project dossier, Dong Nai province is expected to host a passenger station, a freight station, and two maintenance depots. These include a passenger station near the Long Thanh International Airport, a freight station in Quang Tien, Trang Bom district, and maintenance depots in Xuan Tam, Xuan Loc district, and Cam Duong, Long Thanh district.
Dong Nai province will have a passenger station near the Long Thanh airport. The Provincial People’s Committee has proposed to the Ministry of Construction to add another passenger station in Xuan Hoa.
However, with a route length of 82 km across Dong Nai, there is only one planned passenger station near the Long Thanh airport.
Meanwhile, the eastern region of Dong Nai, especially Xuan Loc, Xuan Phu, and Xuan Hoa, has significant potential for socio-economic development. This area boasts ample land resources and a strategic location connecting Dong Nai with the South Central Coastal provinces via National Highway 1 and the Dau Giay-Phan Thiet expressway.
Therefore, the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee proposes that the Ministry of Construction approve the addition of a passenger station in Xuan Hoa, Dong Nai, to the high-speed North-South railway project. They suggest that the Railway Project Management Board (under the Ministry of Construction) coordinate with consulting units to study and include this addition in the project dossier.
According to the Provincial People’s Committee, the location of the Xuan Hoa passenger station complies with the distance requirements for adding a new station.
