Retail Sales of Goods and Consumer Service Revenue at Current Prices

Retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices in July are estimated at VND 576.4 trillion, up 1.1% from the previous month and up 9.2% from the previous year. Notably, revenue from food and foodstuffs increased by 9.9% year-on-year, clothing by 7.9%, household appliances and equipment by 7.1%, accommodation and catering services by 16.3%, and travel services by 12.6%.

For the first seven months of 2025, retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue at current prices are estimated at VND 3,993.4 trillion, up 9.3% from the previous year (in the first seven months of 2024, it increased by 8.9%). Excluding price factors, the increase was 7.1% (compared to 6.2% in the same period last year)

Retail goods revenue in the first seven months of 2025 is estimated at VND 3,049.6 trillion, accounting for 76.4% of the total and an increase of 7.8% over the previous year. Specifically, food and foodstuffs, and cultural and educational goods both increased by 9.4%, clothing by 6.4%, and household appliances and equipment by 5.5%. Some localities with high retail goods revenue in the first seven months of 2025 compared to the previous year include: Da Nang up 9.1%, Hai Phong up 8.4%, Ho Chi Minh City up 8.2%, Hanoi up 8.0%, and Can Tho up 7.8%.

Revenue from accommodation and catering services in the first seven months of 2025 is estimated at VND 481.9 trillion, accounting for 12.1% of the total and an increase of 15.0% over the previous year. Comparing the first seven months of 2025 with the same period last year, some localities saw increases in revenue, including Ho Chi Minh City up 19.7%, Da Nang up 18.6%, Can Tho up 14.8%, Hanoi up 12.0%, and Hai Phong up 11.0%.

Travel service revenue in the first seven months of 2025 is estimated at VND 52.8 trillion, accounting for 1.3% of the total and an increase of 20.0% over the previous year. Comparing the first seven months of 2025 with the same period last year, some localities saw increases in revenue, including Dong Nai up 31.5%, Lao Cai up 28.4%, Ho Chi Minh City up 23.4%, Hue up 22.6%, and Hanoi up 18.8%.

Revenue from other services in the first seven months of 2025 is estimated at VND 409.1 trillion, accounting for 10.2% of the total and an increase of 12.4% over the previous year. Comparing the first seven months of 2025 with the same period last year, some localities saw increases in revenue, including Binh Dinh up 18.8%, Ho Chi Minh City up 13.4%, Bac Ninh up 13.0%, Can Tho up 12.8%, Lam Dong up 11.4%, Kien Giang up 10.3%, and Hanoi up 8.5%.
