CafeF is proud to present the top 10 insurance companies in Vietnam with the highest tax contributions for 2024. This list is the third installment of the PRIVATE 100 and VNTAX 200 series, honoring businesses that have made significant contributions to the state budget.
The PRIVATE 100 list specifically recognizes private enterprises with tax contributions of 100 billion VND or more, while the VNTAX 200 list includes all businesses with financial year tax contributions of 200 billion VND or higher, encompassing state-owned, private, FDI, and joint-venture companies.
With a combined contribution of hundreds of thousands of billions of VND from leading enterprises, this is the only tax contribution honor roll that comprehensively reflects the contributions of businesses across all sectors of the economy.
The 2025 PRIVATE 100 and VNTAX 200 lists, based on 2024 data, will feature rankings by industry groups such as Banking, Securities, Real Estate, Consumer Goods, and Retail. These will be announced successively in August 2025.
Top 10 Insurance Companies Contributed 7.8 Trillion VND in Taxes in 2024
As one of the important pillars of the financial market, insurance companies are increasingly becoming significant contributors to the country’s economy in terms of tax revenue.
According to the Vietnam Insurance Association (IAV), 2024 was a relatively challenging year for the industry, with a slight 0.3% decrease in total market insurance premiums compared to 2023; life insurance saw a more significant drop of 5.7%. Nonetheless, companies in the sector significantly increased their tax contributions to the state.
Financial reports show that 23 insurance companies contributed 100 billion VND or more in taxes for 2024. The top 10 companies, with contributions of 300 billion VND or higher, collectively contributed 7.8 trillion VND, a 20% increase compared to the previous year.
Leading the pack are Bao Viet Holdings and PVI Holdings, each contributing over 1,000 billion VND. These companies operate in multiple sectors, offering a range of insurance products, including life, non-life, and reinsurance, as well as securities and fund management.
The remaining eight spots are occupied by five life insurance companies: AIA, Cathay Life, Dai-ichi Life, Manulife, and Prudential, and three non-life insurance companies: BIC, PG Insurance, and MIC.
Due to the nature of their operations, life insurance companies primarily contribute taxes in the form of corporate income tax and personal income tax, while non-life insurance companies mainly contribute through VAT and corporate income tax.

Among the top life insurance companies in the market, AIA Vietnam, a member of the AIA Group, stands out for its strong financial position and stable business operations, consistently contributing significantly to the state budget. In the last two years, AIA has contributed over 600 billion VND each year.
The company offers a diverse range of products, from traditional life insurance to health insurance, catering to various needs at different stages of a customer’s life. As of June 2025, AIA Vietnam serves over 1.6 million customers through a network of nearly 200 offices nationwide and has paid out insurance benefits totaling 15.5 thousand billion VND.
