The provincial leaders of Quang Tri have recently inspected the construction progress of the Coastal Road and Nhat Le 3 Bridge Project, a significant infrastructure development in the region.
With an investment of VND 3,500 billion, the project comprises two main components: The first component, the Quang Binh Coastal Road, has a total investment of nearly VND 2,200 billion. This 80-kilometer-long road project is under the management of the Department of Transport (now the Department of Construction of Quang Binh) and is scheduled for completion by 2026.
The second component, the Nhat Le 3 Bridge, is managed by the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Binh (now the Finance Department after the merger). The construction contractor is the Dat Phuong Joint Stock Group. With a total length of 2.817 kilometers, the bridge includes a 561.4-meter-long bridge and a 2.2-kilometer-long approach road. The total investment for this component is VND 1,300 billion, and the expected completion date is set for 2026.

The total land area required for clearance is 15.33 hectares, of which 10.28 hectares have been completed. The remaining 5.05 hectares are still in the process of clearance in Dong Hoi Ward. For resettlement, the project requires 3.24 hectares of land, 1.73 hectares of which have been acquired so far.
According to the Project Management Board, the construction packages are being implemented simultaneously. The bridge, culvert, and drainage system constructions on the cleared land have been basically completed.
Regarding the first component, the Quang Binh Coastal Road, land clearance work is ongoing in the remaining problematic areas in Tay Thon village, Sen Ngu commune, and the resettlement area in Trung Thanh village, Cam Hong commune. Simultaneously, construction is progressing on transportation routes and the electrical system.
For the Nhat Le 3 Bridge component, the substructure and steel arch installation have been completed. The construction units are currently installing arch cables, railings, and other superstructure elements, with approximately 85% of the work completed. The bridge is expected to be finished by September 2025, and the entire project is on track for completion in 2026.

To ensure timely progress, the construction unit has employed large barges and 93-meter-high cranes with an 800-ton payload capacity. More than 120 construction engineers and workers are dedicated to building the bridge deck each day.
“The arch of Nhat Le 3 Bridge is almost complete, and we are currently working on the cables and the remaining span. The bridge will be finished soon, with only the installation of the parapet, and pavement remaining,” shared Mr. Tran Khac Luat, Director of the Executive Board of Dat Phuong Joint Stock Group, the construction company, to Dai Doan Ket newspaper.
The Coastal Road and Nhat Le 3 Bridge Project is a key infrastructure development, holding significant importance for the region’s economic and social development. It enhances connectivity between coastal areas, urban centers, and economic zones, boosting tourism and marine-related services.
Upon completion, the project will facilitate trade, improve the livelihoods of local residents, and strengthen disaster response capabilities. Additionally, it will ensure uninterrupted transportation and enhance safety during the rainy and stormy seasons.
