The provincial leaders of Quang Tri have recently inspected the construction progress of the Seaside Road and Nhat Le 3 Bridge Project.
The 3,500 billion VND project consists of two components. The first component, the Quang Binh Seaside Road, has a total investment of nearly 2,200 billion VND. The project is under the management of the Department of Transport (now the Department of Construction of Quang Binh) with a length of over 80 km and is scheduled for completion between 2021 and 2026.
The second component, the Nhat Le 3 Bridge, is managed by the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Binh (now the Finance Department after the merger), with the construction undertaken by Dat Phuong Joint Stock Group Corporation. The total length of the project is 2,817 km, including a 561.4-meter bridge and a 2.2-km approach road. With a total investment of 1,300 billion VND, the project is expected to be completed between 2022 and 2026.
Designed as a permanent structure, the Nhat Le 3 Bridge features a steel and reinforced concrete construction with a vaulted bridge design. The bridge approaches are designed as urban main roads with a design speed of 60 km/h, and the road width varies from 23.5 m to 54.5 m, accommodating four lanes of traffic.

The total land area required for clearance along the entire route is 15.33 ha, of which 10.28 ha has been completed, and the remaining 5.05 ha is still in progress in Dong Hoi Ward. For resettlement, the project requires 3.24 ha of land, 1.73 ha of which has been acquired so far.
According to the Project Management Board, the construction packages are being implemented simultaneously, and the bridge, drainage, and sewerage works on the cleared land have been basically completed.
Regarding the first component, the Seaside Road, in the section of Tay Thon village, Sen Ngu commune, and the resettlement area and section in Trung Thanh village, Cam Hong commune, relevant units are continuing to carry out site clearance in areas with complications while also constructing transportation routes and electrical systems.
For the Nhat Le 3 Bridge, the substructure and steel arch installation have been completed. The construction units are currently installing arch cables, railings, and other superstructure elements, with approximately 85% of the work completed. The bridge is expected to be finished by September 2025, and the entire project is on track for completion in 2026.

To ensure timely progress, the construction unit has employed large barges and 93-meter-high cranes with an 800-ton payload capacity for bridge construction. Additionally, over 120 construction workers and engineers are engaged daily in building the bridge deck.
“The arch and cables of Nhat Le 3 Bridge are almost complete, with only one span left to be launched. We are currently working on the bridge’s parapet and pavement,” shared Mr. Tran Khac Luat, Director of the Executive Board of Dat Phuong Joint Stock Group Corporation, the construction unit, in Dai Doan Ket newspaper.
The Seaside Road and Nhat Le 3 Bridge Project is a key infrastructure project that plays a significant role in connecting coastal transportation infrastructure and boosting socio-economic development in the coastal region. It enhances connectivity between urban areas and economic zones, significantly contributing to the development of marine tourism and services.
Upon completion, the project will connect coastal areas, facilitating trade, tourism development, and improving the livelihoods of local residents. Additionally, the infrastructure will enhance disaster response capabilities and ensure uninterrupted communication during the rainy and stormy seasons.
