The ASEAN Online Sale Day (AOSD) is an initiative proposed by Vietnam in 2020, under the coordination of the ASEAN Electronic Commerce Coordinating Committee (ACCEC). It has quickly gained traction across the ASEAN bloc, becoming an annual event symbolizing digital connectivity and economic integration within the region.

In 2025, Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Department of E-Commerce and Digital Economy took the lead in designing, developing, and operating the official online platform for the program – https://onlineasean.com. Vietnam also assumed the role of technical and communications coordinator throughout the program’s implementation since its inception.

AOSD 2025: Expanding Reach, Deepening Connections

Building on the success of previous years, AOSD 2025 aims to: Promote intra-ASEAN consumption and exports through e-commerce; Support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in accessing regional markets; and Raise consumer awareness and confidence in cross-border e-commerce.

The program is structured in two tiers: domestic promotions on national e-commerce platforms and cross-border transactions between ASEAN businesses.

Vietnamese Businesses: Seizing Opportunities in the Regional Market

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam has consistently led in the number of participating businesses in AOSD in recent years. In 2025, Vietnamese enterprises will have the opportunity to reach millions of regional consumers through a centralized digital platform developed by the ASEAN Secretariat, while also benefiting from media exposure and connections with prominent domestic and international trade partners.
