Explore Gia Lai’s New Road: A Scenic Route Connecting the City to the Sea

The newly completed road project, connecting the Western Road to the coastal road in Gia Lai province, has a total investment of over 800 billion VND.

This road acts as a vital link between the East and West, connecting DT.638 and the coastal road DT.639. It solves the long-standing issue of limited transportation and trade between these regions.

With a length of 19.2 km, the road passes through the communes of Phu My Tay, Phu My, and An Luong.

Starting at Km 65+300 on DT.638 (Chanh Thuan village, Phu My Tay commune), the road ends at Km 44+698 on the coastal road DT.639 (Huong Lac village, An Luong commune)

Designed as a Grade III plain road with a speed limit of 80 km/h and a width of 12m, it significantly reduces travel time and facilitates the transport of goods, agricultural produce, and cultural exchange between the western urban areas and the eastern coastal regions.

This East-West connector will expand the county’s space towards the sea, facilitating trade and acting as a catalyst for economic growth and infrastructure development.

The road traverses saltwater shrimp ponds and villages reliant on salt production, offering a glimpse of pristine, peaceful, and romantic natural scenery.

The road cuts through vast rice fields.

The road also contributes to the completion of the local transportation infrastructure, improving the quality of life, ensuring the safety of the people, and creating a new face for urban and rural areas.

The contractor is currently finalizing safety-related ancillary items.

According to Mr. Luu Nhat Phong, Director of the Project Management Board for Transportation and Civil Engineering in Gia Lai province, the road project has been completed on schedule and with high quality. This transportation hub is a critical “lifeline” for the province, carrying the hopes and aspirations of the local community.

“With this new road, locals will have more job opportunities and improved incomes, leading to a more prosperous life,” said Mr. Luu Nhat Phong. “The project is also of utmost importance for national defense and security.”
