Vietnamese entrepreneur, Nguyen Quoc Cuong, shared that his 15-year-old son, Nguyen Quoc Hung, also known as Subeo, gained hands-on experience through a two-week internship at the family’s corporation during the summer break.
According to Cuong, Subeo explored various job roles within the group, including business, customer care, property handover, and restaurant service and order-taking. The aim was to expose him to the inner workings of the enterprise, fostering self-reliance and adaptability.
“My brother and I agreed that for the last two weeks of summer before school reopens, he would intern and learn about the work environment by taking on different roles within our corporation—from business and customer care to property handover, and even serving and taking orders at our restaurants,” Cuong shared on his personal page.
Cuong intends to guide his son towards understanding work at multiple levels, from basic to complex tasks, fostering an appreciation for labor and respect for all job positions.
Beyond the internship, Cuong actively spends time with his son, attending parent-teacher meetings, sports events at school, and maintaining a consistent daily routine. The family ensures Subeo has an age-appropriate schedule and a supportive environment to navigate the psychological challenges of adolescence.
In an online interaction, Cuong emphasized the importance of building a close relationship with one’s children to effectively guide and mentor them.
