On August 8, within the framework of State President Luong Cuong’s state visit to Angola, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son met with the leaders of the Angola Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), the National Agency for Oil and Biofuels of Angola (ANPG), Sonangol National Oil Company, and Xuan Thien Group, a Vietnamese conglomerate with successful investment projects in Angola.

Assessing that the economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Angola is still in its early stages and has much potential, the Deputy Prime Minister proposed that Angolan authorities and businesses strengthen collaboration with their Vietnamese counterparts and effectively implement existing agreements, such as the Memorandum of Understanding between the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Sonangol, and the cooperation agreement between Vietnam’s Xuan Thien Oil and Gas Group and ANPG. He also encouraged exploring cooperation opportunities in other areas for the benefit of both countries’ people and to promote the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Angola.

The Angolan leaders expressed their honor to meet with Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son and affirmed their willingness to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses to enter the Angolan market and invest in various sectors, including oil and gas, agriculture, and minerals. They highlighted that Vietnam has extensive experience and reputation in these fields.
The Angolan side reaffirmed their commitment to effectively implementing the existing cooperation agreements, ensuring that these collaborations benefit not only the participating businesses but also serve as exemplary agreements between the two countries.
