Specifically, after one year of commercial operation (from 8/8/2024), the Nhon – Cau Giay urban railway line 3.1 elevated section has operated over 7,600 passenger trains, serving over 6.4 million passengers, with an average of 19,000 to 21,000 passengers per day. The on-time performance has been maintained at over 99%.
“These figures indicate that the Nhon – Cau Giay urban railway line 3.1 elevated section not only meets the needs of fast and convenient travel for residents but also gradually forms a habit of using modern public transport, contributing to building a civilized, green, and sustainable Hanoi,” Tramoc representative evaluated.
The Nhon – Hanoi Station urban railway project has a total investment of over VND 30,000 billion. The project is 12.5 km long, including the elevated section (Nhon – Cau Giay) of 8.5 km and the underground section (Cau Giay – Hanoi Station) of over 4 km.

The construction started in 2010; the elevated section of the project has been commercially operated since August 8, 2024; the underground section is under construction and is planned to be completed by 2027. This is Hanoi’s second metro line after Cat Linh – Ha Dong, which was put into operation in 2021.
According to Tramoc, there are eight elevated stations along the Nhon – Cau Giay elevated section with 36 bus routes connected. At the Cau Giay transfer station, the bus network is strengthened to transport more than 6,000 passengers/hour/direction, fully meeting the demand during peak hours.
