This state visit to South Korea is the first by General Secretary To Lam in his capacity as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and it is also the first state visit by a foreign leader to South Korea since the inauguration of the new administration. The visit holds significant importance, creating new momentum and opening up numerous cooperation opportunities between the two countries in this new era of development for both nations.
After more than 30 years of diplomatic relations, the relationship between Vietnam and South Korea has become a very special, effective, and substantive model of cooperation. The bilateral relationship has reached its highest level, a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with a high level of political trust, thanks to substantial cooperation in various fields that have brought practical benefits to the people and businesses of both countries.
