The Lifeline Provincial Road Connecting the Expressway in Hue Needs a $2.8 Million Makeover: A Critical Infrastructure Revamp

The provincial road 9, which connects the Cam Lo - La Son expressway to National Highway 1A, has been in a dire state of disrepair. In response, the Hue authorities have approved a substantial allocation of over 71 billion VND for its restoration.

Regarding the critical provincial road connecting the expressway and National Highway 1A in Hue, which was in a dilapidated state as reported by VTC News, the People’s Committee of Hue City has recently approved an upgrade and expansion project with a total investment of over VND 71 billion.

According to the Management Board of Transport Construction Investment Projects of Hue City, the project is approximately 7.2 km long, from Km0+800 to Km8+000, and is designed according to the planning with two road foundations: from Km0+800 to Km2+989 with a width of 36m, and from Km2+989 to Km8+000 with a width of 31m.

In the current phase, the project will be invested in at an appropriate scale, ensuring it meets transportation needs and financial balance, while also facilitating the future expansion of the entire route. The road surface will use asphalt concrete on a crushed stone base, along with a transversal drainage system at water accumulation points and traffic safety items along the route according to technical regulations.

The project is expected to be completed within three years, forming a vital transportation artery connecting the western area of Hue City with the center of Phong Dien ward, boosting socio-economic development, and ensuring local security and defense.

Previously, VTC News reported on the poor condition of Provincial Road 9 (Phong Dien ward, Hue City), which connects the Cam Lo – La Son expressway with National Highway 1A. The road was full of potholes and bumps, posing accident risks, especially for motorcyclists.
