The Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee recently organized a conference for the Steering Committee of key projects for the period of 2021-2025.

The conference discussed several important issues regarding the progress of key projects, including the construction of a road connecting cultural heritage, tourism, and economic development along the Red River.

According to reports, some sections of the heritage road have been cleared and handed over to the investor, and the process of selecting construction contractors is underway.

At the meeting, the Hung Yen authorities instructed relevant agencies to complete the approval of bidding results and selection of contractors so that the project can commence construction by August 19.

The leaders of Hung Yen Province emphasized the significance of this project as an important milestone to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.

The heritage road is nearly 56 kilometers long.

The Hung Yen authorities requested that all agricultural land required for the project be cleared by August 2025, with resettlement areas completed by October 30. The entire land clearance process should be finalized before November 15 of this year.

The heritage road project is a Group A project with a total investment of nearly VND 9,300 billion. It is considered one of the largest transportation mega-projects in Hung Yen Province.

The heritage road is approximately 56 kilometers long and passes through Van Giang, Khoai Chau, and Kim Dong districts, as well as the old city of Hung Yen.

The starting point of the heritage road is located next to the Ecopark urban area, with a total investment of up to USD 10 billion.

The starting point of the route is at Km0+00, at the boundary between Hung Yen Province and Hanoi (Xuan Quan commune, former Van Giang district), adjacent to the Ecopark urban area, which has a total investment of up to USD 10 billion. The endpoint is at Km55+680, intersecting the left dike of the Red River (Tan Hung commune, former Hung Yen city).

The design includes two roads: the main road, built to Grade II – Plain road standards with a speed of 100km/h, and the auxiliary road, with standards equivalent to Grade IV – Plain road and a speed of 60km/h.

Two bridges are planned to be constructed over the irrigation canal at Lien Nghia and Nghi Xuyen pumping stations, as well as the Nghi Xuyen bridge, suitable for crossing the river and irrigation canal.

Regarding the current status, the road will follow the left dike of the Red River (Provincial Road 378) and then separate, running close to the dike towards the riverbank, with an average distance of 1-1.5 km from the existing dike.

The construction of the heritage road is scheduled for the period of 2024-2026.

Once completed, the project is expected to contribute to the formation of a regional connecting road, linking cultural and spiritual heritage sites along the Red River, including Thang Long, Pho Hien, Tam Chuc, Bai Dinh, and Chua Huong.

In recent times, Hung Yen has stood out with several significant transportation projects. Notably, in July 2024, the province inaugurated a nearly 24-kilometer road connecting two expressways, with a total investment of VND 1,700 billion.

Currently, Hung Yen is continuing to implement several transportation projects, including the Capital Region Ring Road 4, with a length of approximately 19.3 kilometers and a total investment of VND 5,244 billion, and the Tan Phuc – Vong Phan road project, with a length of 29 kilometers and a total investment of nearly VND 3,000 billion.
