There is growing excitement among motorcycle enthusiasts in the southern region of the country, as a specialized importer has announced plans to bring the Honda CG150 to Vietnam. This classic-style, manual clutch motorcycle is manufactured by Atlas Honda, a joint venture based in Pakistan.

The Honda CG150 may soon arrive in Vietnam.

Previously, the Honda CGX150, another classic-style manual clutch bike, was introduced to the Vietnamese market. However, the CG150 and CGX150 are entirely different models: the CGX150 is produced by Wuyang-Honda, a joint venture in China, while the CG150, as mentioned, is manufactured by Atlas Honda in Pakistan.

According to specifications released by Atlas Honda, the Honda CG150 is powered by a 150cc SOHC 4-stroke engine that delivers a modest 8.75 kW (or 11.73 horsepower) at 7,500 rpm and 12.5 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm.

When compared to the Winner, a model currently available in authorized dealerships across Vietnam (DOHC 150cc, 15.42 horsepower, and 13.5 Nm), the CG150’s performance figures are less impressive.

One notable feature of the Honda CG150 is its front fuel tank. With a substantial capacity of 11.4 liters and a fuel economy of approximately 2.82L/100km, the motorcycle can travel up to 404 kilometers on a single tank. However, it is unclear whether the CG150 uses a carburetor or electronic fuel injection system. If it is the latter, users should avoid riding until the tank is empty, as this can damage the fuel pump.

The motorcycle sports a classic design.

Another unusual aspect of the Honda CG150 is its 5-speed manual transmission. This is a departure from the majority of Honda’s manual clutch motorcycles sold in Vietnam, including both imported and authorized dealership models, which typically feature a 6-speed transmission. A similar 5-speed setup can be found on a select few models, such as the Honda CRF150L.

The black version of the Honda CG150 is available in two color options.

In terms of design, the Honda CG150 exudes a classic aesthetic reminiscent of the early 2000s. Its retro appeal is further enhanced by the round LED headlight, square taillight, dual analog gauges, and “bread loaf” seat. The overall design of the CG150 leans more towards vintage styling when compared to the CGX150 and other models currently offered by Honda in Vietnam.

However, instead of traditional spoked wheels, the CG150 features stylish multi-spoke cast aluminum wheels. Atlas Honda currently offers the motorcycle in three color options: dark green, red, and black, with the black version featuring a two-tone color scheme that includes gray accents.

The Honda CG150 is equipped with a Combi Brake System.

One notable feature of the Honda CG150 is its Combi Brake System (CBS). This system is designed to distribute braking force to both the front and rear brakes, reducing braking distance and minimizing the risk of wheel lock during heavy braking.

The Honda CG150 has a dry weight of 118 kg, a seat height of 773 mm, and a ground clearance of 171 mm. With these dimensions, individuals of average height (under 1.65 meters) can comfortably mount and maneuver the motorcycle.

The importer has not disclosed the exact timing of the CG150’s arrival in Vietnam or its retail price. However, the expected price conversion for the Honda CG150 is approximately 42 million VND.
