Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chairs the Standing Government Meeting on preparations for the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony of projects and works to celebrate the 80th National Day

The meeting was attended by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Deputy Prime Ministers Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Nguyen Chi Dung, and Mai Van Chinh; along with leaders of ministries, central agencies, and local authorities.
Prior to the meeting, the Prime Minister had issued Official Dispatch No. 57/CD-TTg dated May 5, 2025, and Official Dispatch No. 129/CD-TTg dated August 7, 2025, regarding the preparations for this important event.
According to a report by the Ministry of Construction, as of August 11, the ministry had reviewed and compiled a list of over 250 large projects and works from various ministries, sectors, localities, corporations, and companies across 34 provinces and cities. These projects, with a total investment of approximately VND 1,260,000 billion from state and other sources, are eligible for groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies.
The groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies are scheduled for August 19, with the main venue at the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh district, Hanoi. There will be 80 satellite venues for online and offline participation at the project sites. The program will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television and local radio and television stations.
After hearing the reports and discussions, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the increasingly experienced preparations of the relevant agencies.
Providing guidance and suggestions on specific aspects, the Prime Minister emphasized that the event aims to further contribute to creating motivation, inspiring aspiration and dedication, and building momentum for the country’s construction and development.
Instructing the agencies and units to continue taking proactive and active approaches in performing their functions, tasks, and responsibilities, the Prime Minister requested a thorough review and update of the list to select truly representative projects. He also emphasized the need to ensure that the groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies are practical, effective, impressive, solemn, meaningful, impactful, and economical while adhering to regulations. Attention should be given to doing a good job of awarding and honoring individuals and organizations during this occasion. Furthermore, the Prime Minister instructed strengthening the communication and promotion of these projects before, during, and after the event and ensuring security and safety for the event.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also took the time to evaluate the numerous cultural and artistic events that have taken place in recent days to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended and highly appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television, and many other ministries, agencies, units, and artists for their dedication and commitment to organizing special cultural events and artistic programs to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day.
Expressing his emotion upon seeing the stands filled with the red colors of the national flag and tens of thousands of people singing the National Anthem together, the Prime Minister believed that these programs had created a great resonance and attracted a large number of audiences. They contributed to inspiring and spreading the spirit of patriotism and dedication among the people. The Prime Minister also praised the talent, creativity, sense of service to the people, and patriotism of the artists, organizers, and participants.
On August 10, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conducted a surprise inspection to review the preparations for a series of important events, including the exhibition on the country’s achievements titled “80 Years of Independence, Freedom, and Happiness” at the National Exhibition Center. He also visited and encouraged the organizing team and artists who were rehearsing for the grand music show to be held there.
The Prime Minister requested the units to focus on ensuring safety, traffic, and progress while sharing his thoughts with the team and artists about the important role of culture. He emphasized that culture is an endogenous strength and a spiritual foundation, encompassing national, scientific, and popular aspects. “Culture is the soul of a nation, and when culture thrives, the nation thrives,” he added. Quoting the teachings of beloved President Ho Chi Minh, the Prime Minister recalled his words: “Culture lights the path for the nation.” Since its establishment, the Party has always attached great importance to the role of culture and has been deeply concerned about cultural development.
To concretize the Party’s guidelines and policies, the Government has directed and implemented numerous solutions in the cultural field, aiming to achieve the following objectives: preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of a nation with a history of over 4,000 years; develop the cultural and entertainment industries; create favorable conditions for artists to dedicate themselves to their art and make a living from their profession; and ultimately, enable the people to enjoy more fully the cultural and developmental achievements of the country, as directed by General Secretary To Lam.
