The all-new Volkswagen Touareg R-Line makes its debut in Vietnam.

Volkswagen Vietnam has just introduced two new variants for the Touareg: the Highline, priced at 3.099 billion VND, and the R-Line, priced at 3.399 billion VND. Concurrently, the prices of the previous Elegance and Luxury versions have been reduced by 331 million VND to 2.368 billion VND and 2.768 billion VND, respectively.

Immediately following its launch, the first Touareg models were delivered to dealerships. The vehicle’s overall dimensions are 4,902 mm in length, 1,984 mm in width, and 1,695 mm in height, with a 2,899 mm wheelbase and a 216 mm ground clearance. The front of the car features the new IQ.Light LED headlights with a full-width LED daytime running light strip. The LED taillights have also been redesigned to match the front end.

The R-Line variant features a more athletic exterior with new front and rear bumpers, 20-inch Braga-style 5-spoke alloy wheels in Graphite Gray, and R-Line badging on the grille and sides of the vehicle.

The interior of the new VW Touareg retains the classic style of the previous model but includes additional features. The multifunction steering wheel has numerous function buttons. Behind the wheel are a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The front seats are 18-way power-adjustable with 4-way lumbar support and thigh extension, 3-position memory, heating, and ventilation.

Some of the convenience features include an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a head-up display, four-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, manual sunshades for the second-row seats, 30-color ambient lighting, and an electric tailgate.

Additionally, the R-Line variant features R-Line logos on the headrests and carbon fiber-patterned seats. The steering wheel features an R-Line badge at the 6 o’clock position and paddle shifters, and the R-Line scuff plates are illuminated. This version also includes soft-close doors and a 13-speaker, 730-watt Dynaudio sound system.

Unfortunately, the new Touareg no longer offers a 360-degree camera or massage seats.

In terms of performance, the new variants are powered by a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine producing 252 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an automatic transmission and a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, along with air suspension. According to the German automaker, the VW Touareg offers seven driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, Offroad, and Snow.

The VW Touareg competes in the Vietnamese market against rivals such as the Audi Q7 (starting at 3.54 billion VND), BMW X5 (starting at 4.099 billion VND), and Lexus RX (starting at 3.43 billion VND).

On this occasion, Volkswagen Vietnam also introduced five new dealerships across the country: Volkswagen An Phu (An Khanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), Volkswagen Golden (Cho Lon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), Volkswagen Thanh Hoa (Quang Phu Ward, Thanh Hoa), Volkswagen Dong Nai (Long Binh Ward, Dong Nai), and Volkswagen Khanh Hoi (Khanh Hoi Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).
