On August 12, at the regular press conference of the People’s Committee of Dak Lak province, Mr. Truong Cong Thai, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, shared information about key projects that are being and will be invested in the construction in the province.

Mr. Truong Cong Thai, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dak Lak province, said he would spend Saturdays and Sundays surveying delayed projects.

According to Mr. Thai, the province is currently implementing and will implement several important projects, such as the Ho Chi Minh Road bypass section in Buon Ma Thuot, the Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot expressway, and the high-speed railway on the North-South axis…

The North-South high-speed railway section passing through the locality is about 96km long, with a designed speed of 350 km/h, and will have a Tuy Hoa station located in Phu Yen ward. It is expected that about 4,100 households will be affected by resettlement and relocation to make way for construction. Dak Lak province is in the process of initiating resettlement work for the project.

Regarding Component 3 (48km long) of the Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot expressway project, at the launching ceremony of the high-point emulation with the theme “500 days and nights of emulation to complete 3,000 km of expressways”, the project must be completed by August 30. However, the project has fallen behind schedule due to some weak subcontractors, and the province has directed the retrieval of the volume. The government has also allowed for an adjustment to the deadline, and it is now expected to be completed by December 31.

The Khanh Hoa – Buon Ma Thuot Expressway project is delayed compared to the initial plan

Mr. Thai expressed his frustration over the fact that for more than 10 years, the Y Ngong Road project (Mai Xuan Thuong – Provincial Road 1 section) has not been completed, even though it is just over 2 km long.

“Now the responsibility lies with the Department of Construction, and we cannot blame anyone else. I request that this hot spot be addressed immediately within this August. During the rainy season, cars are half-submerged, how can people travel? You have to work continuously, how many trucks of sand and stone are needed, don’t expect me to do it for you. These are the things that people are expecting, don’t let it be mentioned again at the next press conference,” said Mr. Thai.

The Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee also said that he would spend Saturdays and Sundays inspecting all sluggish projects in terms of progress, disbursement, and obstacles to find solutions.

“In the first eight months, only over 20% of the total VND 3,900 billion has been disbursed. With this disbursement rate, how will you report and explain to the Prime Minister?” Mr. Thai asked.
