According to VEC’s plan, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 (connecting to Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway) section passing through Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai will be temporarily opened for operation from August 19. Thus, VEC will implement toll collection for the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway at the Ring Road 3 toll station with 6 lanes, using the non-stop toll collection (ETC) method.
The toll collection scheme for the Ring Road 3 toll station is as follows: For vehicles entering from An Phu and passing through Long Phuoc (7km), the toll will be the same as the current rate. For vehicles entering An Phu and exiting at Ring Road 3 (4km), a toll station will be set up, and the toll will be calculated for 4km.

For vehicles entering from Ring Road 3 and heading to the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, a dual-station model will be applied, with Long Phuoc Station serving as a transfer station. When vehicles pass through the Ring Road 3 Station, the system will record one open-station transaction (Ring Road 3 – An Phu, charged for 4 km) and one transaction to record entry information at the Ring Road 3 Station.
If vehicles enter from Ring Road 3 and exit at An Phu Junction or Ring Road 2 (towards Ho Chi Minh City), they will be charged for a 4 km distance (Ring Road 3 – An Phu or Ring Road 2 section). If vehicles enter from Ring Road 3 and continue to the Long Phuoc Toll Station (heading to Dong Nai), they will be charged for a 4 km distance (Ring Road 3 – An Phu or Ring Road 2 section) while also recording an entry transaction at the Ring Road 3 Station, with Long Phuoc Station serving as a transfer station.
In the case of vehicles coming from Dong Nai and exiting at the Long Phuoc Toll Station (Ho Chi Minh City), a dual-station model will be applied, with the Ring Road 3 Station recording both open-station and closed-station transactions. Therefore, if vehicles go straight to the Ring Road 2 or An Phu Junction, the toll will remain the same as the current rate. If vehicles exit at the Long Phuoc Station and then reach the Ring Road 3 Station, they will be charged for one open-station transaction at Ring Road 3 and one closed-station transaction exiting Ring Road 3.

The toll rates at the Ring Road 3 intersection, including an 8% value-added tax, are as follows: For Group 1 vehicles (vehicles with less than 12 seats, vehicles with a load capacity of less than 2 tons, and buses for public passenger transport), the toll ranges from nearly VND 9,000 to VND 103,000 per trip.
For Group 2 vehicles (12-30 seat vehicles, vehicles with a load capacity of 2 to less than 4 tons), the toll is VND 13,000 – VND 155,000 per trip.
Group 3 vehicles (over 31 seat vehicles, vehicles with a load capacity of 4 to less than 10 tons, tractor vehicles without a trailer or semi-trailer) will be charged VND 17,600 to VND 206,700 per trip.
Group 4 vehicles (vehicles with a load capacity of 10 to less than 18 tons, vehicles carrying 20-foot containers) will be charged over VND 22,000 to VND 258,000 per trip.
Group 5 vehicles (vehicles with a load capacity of 18 tons or more, vehicles carrying 40-foot containers) will be charged a toll of approximately VND 35,000 to VND 413,000 per trip.
The Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway, with a length of 55 km, connects Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai and has been in operation since 2015. It is one of the expressways with the highest traffic volume in Vietnam, averaging 45,000 – 50,000 cars per day.
