The meeting was attended by Comrade Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; Central Committee members, Deputy Prime Ministers Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Nguyen Chi Dung, and Mai Van Chinh; and leaders of ministries, central agencies, and localities.

Earlier, the Prime Minister issued Dispatch No. 57/CD-TTg dated May 5, 2025, and Dispatch No. 129/CD-TTg dated August 7, 2025, on preparations for this important event.

According to a report by the Ministry of Construction, as of August 11, the Ministry had reviewed and compiled a list of over 250 large projects and works of ministries, sectors, localities, corporations, and companies in 34 provinces and cities that meet the conditions for groundbreaking and inauguration, with a total investment of about VND 1,260,000 billion from state and other sources.

The inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony is expected to take place on August 19, with the main venue at the National Convention Center in Dong Anh district, Hanoi, and 80 other venues for online and direct participation at the projects and works. The program will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television and local radio and television stations.

After listening to the reports and opinions, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the increasingly experienced preparation of the relevant agencies.

Suggesting and giving opinions on specific contents, the Prime Minister emphasized that the organization of the event aims to continue contributing to creating motivation, inspiring, arousing aspirations and dedication, creating momentum, and promoting the building and development of the country.

Directing the agencies and units to continue to proactively and actively implement tasks according to their functions, tasks, and powers, the Prime Minister requested to continue reviewing, updating, and selecting truly representative projects and works; organizing groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies in a practical, effective, impressive, solemn, meaningful, pervasive, and economical manner, in accordance with regulations; doing well in commendation and honor on this occasion; paying attention to promoting communication about the projects before, during, and after the event; and ensuring security and safety for the event.

Spreading the Love for the Country

Also at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh took time to evaluate many cultural and artistic events that took place in recent days to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended and highly appreciated the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television, and many ministries, sectors, agencies, and units for seriously implementing the directions of the Politburo, the General Secretary To Lam, the Central Committee for Commemorating Major Holidays and Important Historical Events of the Country, the Government, and the Prime Minister in organizing special cultural and artistic programs to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day, September 2.

Expressing his emotion at the sight of the stands filled with the red color of the national flag and tens of thousands of people singing the National Anthem together, the Prime Minister said that the programs had made a great impression, attracting hundreds of thousands of spectators and contributing to inspiring and spreading the spirit of patriotism and dedication in the people. The Prime Minister also highly appreciated the talent, creativity, spirit of serving the people, and patriotism of the artists, organizers, and performers.

Earlier, on August 10, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made a surprise inspection of the preparation for a series of important events, including the Exhibition of National Achievements with the theme “80 Years of Independence, Freedom, and Happiness” at the National Exhibition Center. The Prime Minister also visited and encouraged the team and artists who were rehearsing for a grand music show to be held there.

The Prime Minister requested the units to pay attention to ensuring safety, traffic, and progress and shared with the team and artists about the important role of culture. The Prime Minister emphasized that culture is an internal strength and a spiritual foundation, with a national-scientific-mass nature, and that culture is the soul of the nation. As Uncle Ho taught, “Culture lights the way for the nation to advance.”

From its inception to the present, the Party has always attached great importance to the role of culture and paid great attention to cultural development. To concretize the Party’s guidelines and policies, the Government has directed and implemented many solutions in the field of culture, with the following objectives: preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of a 4,000-year-old history; developing the cultural industry and entertainment industry; creating favorable conditions for artists to dedicate themselves to their art and make a living from their profession; and thereby contributing to enabling the people to enjoy more cultural and development achievements of the country, as directed by General Secretary To Lam.
