According to the Domestic Market Management and Development Department, the Market Management Team No. 8 of the Market Management Authority of Dong Thap province detected violations by two electric bicycle businesses in Tan Ky Dong B commune, through monitoring commercial activities on e-commerce platforms (Facebook).
The inspection team from Market Management Team No. 8 conducted surprise inspections at the business premises of these two establishments. The inspection revealed that while the businesses were selling various types of electric bicycles, the goods did not display information on their place of manufacture or origin. Moreover, the business owners were unable to produce invoices, documents, or any proof of the goods’ origin.

Notably, one of the establishments was operating at multiple locations without notifying the tax authority and the market management agency as required.
The authorities immediately drew up an administrative violation report and confiscated nine electric bicycles, with a total value of over VND 70 million. The Team Leader of Market Management Team No. 8 is considering issuing a fine of nearly VND 40 million and confiscating all the violating goods.
Previously, the National Steering Committee for the Prevention and Combat of Smuggling, Commercial Fraudulence, and Counterfeit Goods (Steering Committee 389) had directed functional forces to maintain a high level of inspection and control and strictly handle smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, especially for goods directly affecting consumers’ health, essential goods, and high-demand items during holidays and festivals.

Unveiling the Counterfeit: Over 50,000 Fake Red Bull Cans Uncovered
The Market Management Force has recently uncovered over 50,000 cans of a beverage named “Bò Húc”, which bears a striking resemblance to the well-known energy drink, Red Bull. This discovery raises concerns about potential trademark infringement, as the similarities between the two products are undeniable. With a name that translates to “Bull Charge” and a design that echoes the iconic Red Bull logo, it is clear that “Bò Húc” aims to capitalize on the success and reputation of its established counterpart. This case highlights the importance of vigilant market surveillance to protect consumers from deceptive practices and ensure fair competition within the industry.
