The market maintained its optimistic sentiment at the start of the week on August 11th, following a positive week of gains. The VN-Index briefly surpassed the 1,600 mark during the session before narrowing its gains slightly, ultimately closing up 11.91 points (+0.75%) at 1,596.86. In terms of foreign investment, foreign investors continued their strong selling trend, with a net sell-off of 649 billion VND across the market.

Securities companies’ proprietary trading activities resulted in a net sell-off of 400 billion VND on the HoSE.

Specifically, securities companies offloaded STB the most, with a net sell value of 51 billion VND. This was followed by GEX and GEE, which both experienced net selling of 43 billion VND. Several other stocks also faced net selling pressure, including DXG (26 billion), NLG (22 billion), FRT (21 billion), DBC (19 billion), CTG (17 billion), BCM (17 billion), and ACB (5 billion VND).

On the buying side, MSN witnessed the strongest net buying, with a value of 72 billion VND. HPG and MWG followed with net buying values of 35 billion and 23 billion VND, respectively. Additionally, securities companies net bought HDG, FPT, NVL, LPB, MSB, DGC, and HDB, with values ranging from 3 to 10 billion VND.
