On August 11th, the Phu Tho Provincial Police provided information on major cases related to the production of counterfeit health supplements that they had recently cracked down on.
Notably, the case involved the production and trading of counterfeit goods, specifically meat products, at MQ FOOD Co., Ltd. in Vinh Hung, Phu Tho Province. This business entity produced and sold hundreds of tons of low-quality dried buffalo meat, reaping hundreds of billions of VND in profits.
During the raid, the police seized over 30 tons of pork and buffalo meat, one ton of fresh frozen sausage, three tons of dried buffalo meat, and 3.4 tons of dried pork.
Vu Thi Huong, 32 years old, the director of the company, was prosecuted for producing and trading counterfeit goods, specifically food products.
Major General Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of Phu Tho Provincial Police, provides information on the recently cracked cases.
Interestingly, Major General Nguyen Minh Tuan revealed that during the raid, they discovered an entire village involved in producing counterfeit ‘Ha Giang’ dried buffalo meat. The input volume reached several thousand tons, mostly Indian buffalo meat that was disguised as the renowned Ha Giang specialty. Following the police raid, all production facilities in that village ceased operations.
The leadership of the Phu Tho Provincial Police affirmed that the investigation and strict handling of these cases of producing and trading counterfeit food products have received tremendous support from the people of Phu Tho Province in particular and consumers nationwide in general.
These cracked cases serve as a warning and deterrence to entities and individuals who show signs or intentions of engaging in the production and trading of counterfeit goods, especially food products, urging them to comply with legal regulations.
In the first six months of this year, the Phu Tho Provincial Police directed the Economic Police to simultaneously deploy professional measures, investigate and initiate prosecutions for 142 cases/300 subjects.
