On August 13, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City, Bamboo Airways Joint Stock Company (Bamboo Airways) announced that its Board of Directors (BOD) has accepted the resignations of Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh, Chairman of the BOD, and Mr. Luong Hoai Nam, CEO of the company, effective immediately as of August 13, 2025. Both individuals stepped down from their positions for personal reasons.
The BOD of Bamboo Airways has also passed a resolution to elect and appoint new leaders to replace the departed personnel.
Accordingly, Mr. Le Thai Sam assumes the role of Chairman of the BOD, replacing Mr. Pham Ngoc Vinh, effective August 13, 2025, while Mr. Truong Phuong Thanh takes on the position of CEO of the airline, succeeding Mr. Luong Hoai Nam from the same date.
Mr. Le Thai Sam is well-versed in Vietnam’s business and investment landscape and possesses extensive experience in investment strategy formulation, risk management, and market analysis. He has established collaborative relationships with numerous investment funds and prominent economic organizations both domestically and internationally. Mr. Sam joined Bamboo Airways in 2022 and quickly became the airline’s largest shareholder. During his tenure as Chairman of the BOD (July 2023–February 2024) and subsequently as Permanent Vice Chairman of the BOD, he made significant contributions to the company’s governance and operations, especially during the airline’s transformation and comprehensive restructuring phase.

Mr. Truong Phuong Thanh is an aviation expert with nearly 30 years of experience, having held several leadership positions in prominent aviation businesses. He was associated with Bamboo Airways from 2019 to 2024 as Deputy CEO, overseeing numerous critical areas, particularly ground handling, which directly impacts the airline’s service quality and on-time performance. Since June 2025, Mr. Thanh has resumed his role as Deputy CEO, continuing to contribute to enhancing service quality and operational efficiency.
