Five Significant Contributions of THACO Group Acknowledged by Da Nang Secretary

In his conclusion, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang acknowledged that this was the first working session of the Da Nang Party Committee after the merger. “I highly appreciate and value the development and contributions of the THACO Group over the years. Whenever I think about industrial development, I always use THACO as an example in my discussions with colleagues,” he shared.

Mr. Quang highlighted five significant contributions made by the THACO Group to the development of Quang Nam and Da Nang. Firstly, THACO has contributed to Da Nang’s industrial sector. According to Mr. Quang, the city plans to develop heavy industry in the southern region, and THACO will be the leading corporation in this regard.

“I believe that THACO’s development will create an ecosystem, a magnet to attract other businesses into the ecosystem, especially in industry and mechanics,” Mr. Quang said.

Secondly, THACO has made significant contributions to the local budget. Since its establishment, the group has contributed more than VND 231,000 billion to the state budget. In 2025, THACO commits to contributing at least VND 20,000 billion, which is more than one-third of the city’s expected revenue for the year.

The third contribution is creating jobs for high-quality workers. In Chu Lai alone, there are over 16,400 employees, most of whom are locals.

Fourthly, THACO has contributed to social welfare and infrastructure. Mr. Quang cited the example of the roundabout road in Chu Lai, which was funded by THACO. During the working session, THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong committed to investing in a resettlement area for the local community, which is highly appreciated.

Lastly, Mr. Quang acknowledged that despite being a private group, THACO has established a well-organized Party organization and Trade Union. THACO maintains six Party branches with over 200 members and a Trade Union that effectively serves the interests of its workforce.

At the working session, the Da Nang Party Secretary sought the opinion of the Party Committee members, and they unanimously agreed on the policy to recognize THACO as a strategic investor in the city’s development orientation.

Regarding THACO’s proposals, Mr. Quang stated that the five projects mainly faced two issues: site clearance and procedures. He instructed the Da Nang Land Development Center to prioritize site clearance for THACO’s projects as key tasks. He emphasized identifying responsible agencies and individuals and set a deadline of October 2025 for complete land handover to the investor.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quang also offered to coordinate with relevant ministries and sectors to address any obstacles. He suggested that THACO should not focus solely on transporting over 16,000 workers daily but should aim to create a “living ecosystem” in Chu Lai. He noted the absence of supermarkets or essential services in the vast area and emphasized the need for housing, entertainment, and essential services. He envisioned a “THACO city” or a “smart city” that would attract residents.

Mr. Tran Ba Duong, Chairman of THACO Group’s Board of Directors, speaks at the working session

Mr. Nguyen Van Quang expressed his desire for THACO to aim for a budget contribution of VND 25,000 billion per year or more in the next two years. He also called on THACO to consider implementing the urban railway project connecting Da Nang airport with Hoi An and Chu Lai airports and developing a logistics ecosystem. “Da Nang city is ready to accompany the group in its development journey,” Mr. Quang concluded.

Mr. Tran Ba Duong, Chairman of THACO Group’s Board of Directors, expressed his gratitude for the attention and support of the Da Nang Party Committee. He acknowledged the pressure and honor of being a significant contributor, stating that not every entrepreneur or business can achieve this.

Mr. Tran Ba Duong committed to being a strategic investor in Da Nang’s heavy industry development. He pledged to leverage THACO’s strengths to create connections and positive impacts, not only for THACO but also for the wider investor community in the southern region of Da Nang.
