The Nguyen Tuan Road Improvement and Expansion Project in Thanh Xuan district has faced delays, with the completion date pushed back to March 2026, according to Mr. Dang Hoang Linh, Head of the Investment and Infrastructure Project Management Board of Thanh Xuan district.
The project, with a total investment of approximately VND 400 billion, involves the improvement and expansion of Nguyen Tuan Street over a length of about 720 meters. The road will have a width of 21 meters, including a 15-meter carriageway and 3-meter wide sidewalks on both sides.

As of now, the project has completed the construction of the new road section from No. 162 Nguyen Tuan to the intersection of Nguyen Tuan and Nguyen Huy Tuong, with the C19 coarse asphalt concrete layer in place.
To ensure smooth traffic flow during the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the construction unit removed the barrier fence and technically opened the road from the afternoon of August 12.
Currently, the project is in the process of installing sewers and manholes for the water supply and drainage systems, as well as laying pipes for telecommunication and lighting systems. The entire project is expected to be completed by March 2026.
Mr. Linh attributed the delay to challenges and obstacles encountered during the project’s implementation, including the transition of local government at two levels, which led to changes in the investor and bidding procedures. As a result, some packages, such as the relocation of the power and information systems, have not progressed as planned initially.

Additionally, there is one remaining case of compensation and clearance at No. 35A Nguyen Tuan, a two-story old collective house (housing six families), for which there is no specific land price to calculate compensation for state land recovery for the project.
Mr. Linh shared that the Management Board is actively coordinating with relevant agencies and local authorities to overcome these challenges. At the same time, they are urging construction units to concentrate resources and efforts to complete the entire project by the new deadline of March 2026.
